Gameday Thread Guidelines for 2022 football season: - chiefsfan - 08-30-2022 08:53 AM

Thought we'd rehash these for our newbies, most of our regulars know how to handle threads on game day.

1. For Game threads, please label the thread "Game Thread" and List who is playing, the kickoff time, and TV network. Since there is a character limit on titles, use abbreviations when necessary. There is no need for asterisks.

2. We do not have anyone specific who starts game threads, anyone can start a thread, though we ask once a game thread is started, don't start a 2nd thread for the same game, we don't need 6 threads about JMU vs ODU for example.

3. Game Thread discussion is to be limited to discussion about that game itself. There doesn't have to be a play by play, but try to post scores etc as you can. Any off topic discussions will be unapproved or separated off into another thread by mods.

4. Trolling in game threads by visitors is NOT TOLERATED! If you are a visiting fan from another forum who wishes to have a normal discussion about a game you are involved in, great. But please don't start it with "OMG, YOU GUYS STINK" etc Such actions will get warnings and forum bans etc.

5. If your team loses a game, please avoid using angry language that would run afoul of the board censors. Posters who have "difficulties" handling losses by their favorite teams in a professional manner, often end up with 24 hour bans to cool off and sober up.

6. Because some of our moderators will obviously be at their teams games, we usually rotate as a mod staff who will keep an eye on the forum on game days. I will list mods who indicated they will be available to help out that day in a separate post in this thread. You can PM one of those mods to report an issue, or use the report post feature if you can't find someone online.

7. Since we have team boards active on site now, please be aware that game threads on those forums are subject to their own mods guidelines, not those listed here. These are for the main conference forum only

Happy Posting!

Thanks Chief.. Ready to begin this season anew in more ways than one.

I think for the most part you'll see the USM fans get angry at our team vs the opponent, ha.

So just for clarity, we shouldn’t use the ODU/JMU game thread to serve JMU fans their crow afterwards?

You can just create a separate thread for that...lol

It was purely hypothetical, we’re very magnanimous in victory.

Too bad you’ll have to practice ODU’s magnanimous attitude on another opponent other than JMU. Perhaps VT this Friday. 04-cheers

I'm bumping this thread only to point out it's being unpinned from the Important Threads.

Ready to start a thread, post for half the game, and bail when it goes south.
