RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - Loco Bearcat - 09-03-2022 04:20 PM

This should be a closer game however Bryant and Kicker are not executing!

RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - Bearcatbdub - 09-03-2022 04:20 PM

We were going to have to play a perfect game to win this one. Game planning looks good. Defense looks strong. Disappointed in Bryant’s throws. Disappointed in our FG kicker.

Ho hum. Looks like a rebuild not a reload.

You mean up 10?

He meant missing our FG

Why blame the kicker when it's Bryant's fault he was even having to kick a FG?

...that is an...interesting...way of thinking, that's for sure 03-lmfao

Some of these silly short passing calls have me hoping Gino improves at halftime, too.

We will be favored in every other game but one all year. Just because we aren't beating a Top 15 team on the road in game one of the season doesn't mean we're rebuilding. Jesus people lol.

RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - UCGrad1992 - 09-03-2022 04:22 PM

I know Fick and Gino don't like playing two guys at QB but Bryant has really struggled since that early INT. 12/20 92 YDS. I would give it to Prater for the second half. If you wait until we're down 28-0 then it's harder to gauge what Prater can do in a closer score situation. We get the ball first after the half so...

Bryant can’t complete a pass down field

RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - Bear Catlett - 09-03-2022 04:22 PM

Ridiculous INT leads to an easy TD for them.

Two missed FG's that should have been made.

Bryant sails one right over wide open Scott that was a TD.

We should be up 13-7. We're down 14-0 W... T... F.

Ben Bryant is giving it all he's got. That is the problem.

They will be top 15 after they beat us. Currently 19. Sorry if I have expectations. Our Qb play is not inspiring me.

Yep. Guys have been open and there's been overthrows and misreads.

I mean genuinely, why make a post about how we could only be down 3 if the kicker made it and not how we could have 14 if Bryant could hit wife open receivers?

RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - fnz - 09-03-2022 04:27 PM

I don't think Cameron Ball saw that Kiner was hurt (he was looking the other way), and Bumper Pool thought Kiner faked the injury after he got knocked down because he didn't see it.

But like, why the hell would UC be faking an injury there? Real injury or not (it was) what does lifting him up by the backplate accomplish? Its' like in soccer when a team scores and tried to get the ball to midfield to start play back up again. The other team has to kick it first to begin play again, you're hurrying up just to wait.

I hate fans booing injured players, even if they're faking it (Cincinnati fans have done this too and it's an awful look). It's classless.

If a player is hurt, move on. Leonard Taylor tried to talk **** to some guy lying on the ground before and it was dumb.

RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - dbernie41 - 09-03-2022 04:30 PM

Being that it is the first half and a big game I will give Bryant a little patience, but if he doesn't turn it around this half, you have to hand it over to Prater. Bryant has no future at UC post this year, so if he isn't going to be executing, at least get Prater some live reps.

RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - Dannyboy - 09-03-2022 04:32 PM

We get the ball coming out. At most you give Bryant one more drive. At most.

RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - UCGrad1992 - 09-03-2022 04:34 PM

In terms of kicking, I'd rather be down 14-6 than 14-0. That said, the difference in not having Ridder behind center is apparent - and maybe not fair to Bryant. The bigger question is, why can't we find/recruit a consistent kicker? It can't just be bad luck...

RE: Week 1: Bearcats at Arkansas - Bearcatbdub - 09-03-2022 04:34 PM

I find the fan base to be very poor at predicting what the coaching staff will do re: QB choice. My guess is we got Bryant this year. Probably don’t see Prater until it’s out of reach.

Then again what the hell do I know.

So we risk the whole game in the hopes a player in like his 20th game figures it out? I think thaysbwhat the coached will do but agree Prater (or someone else) is our future and Bryant has been awful today.

It's like that game @UCLA when Hayden Moore was struggling and they put in Dez. Give it a shot with Prater. If UC loses 35-10 so what.
