Completely different way of getting it done (we were not great at getting sacks or stops behind the line last year, simply didn't allow plays through the passing game at all), but drill more than getting it done.

You better play like a badass if you do your face up like you are a furry that watches old Thunder Cats cartoons.

The stats are impressive no matter who you play, but just to keep it real, the combined record of the teams UC have beat so far is 8-11 (11-13 if you include Arkansas). Still TBD on how good Arkansas is. They've failed their 2 big tests so far. We won't get a good handle on how good this team is until the SMU and UCF games. Luckily, there really is no other team fighting for G5 supremacy.

-27.5. So close.

The toughest "opponent" this Saturday will be overconfidence. Fortunately, with this coaching staff and a raucous sold out Homecoming crowd, I doubt that opponent will show up on Saturday.

As someone else here observed, the toughest part of the schedule are the October road games. Tulsa may have worried me more than any other. I think SMU remains somewhat one dimensional and UCF is good but not great so taking care of business Saturday and earning at least a split of those two road games sets this Bearcat team up very well for hosting a CCG once again.

Games against USF recently have not been cakewalks. For whatever reason, we've had a lot of turnovers against them. If you remember, we should have lost that game in 2020 against them, which most likely would have saved coach Strong's job.

UC won that game 28-7 and was up 21-0 when USF finally scored.

How about that national TV friday night game against USF where Tubberville led us to a 51-3 deficit... at halftime.

Good times!

I couldn't decide if it was 19 or 20. I just know the kicking gods were watching out for us that night.

Crap, the US-England WC match is 2 pm that day. UC takes priority but would have loved to have kept the game Saturday and watched both.

Doubt it'll affect attendance, but TV viewership is going to get killed that date.

UC won that game 20-17, where the USF kicker missed 4 makeable FG's and UC won it on a last second field goal. That was Charlie Strong's last season as the USF head coach.

I can tell you right now. England will win. The score will be 2-0.

Season finale against Tulane has been moved to Black Friday for noon or 3:30 ABC/ESPN this I like. Hopefully Tulane runs the table we smack them then they come back for the CCG the following Saturday.

So, I still think Metz should try out for a straight-on-toe field goal kicker to improve what we've had for 5+ seasons. That aside, no one talks about our punter. He's been nothing short of incredible. For some reason, we can recruit good punters but field goal kickers are five leaf clovers...

It helps having the connection to ProKick Australia, which helped us secure two great punters. I’m not sure if that was a Coach Mason thing or a Coach Fick hook up but hopefully we grab our third Aussie in a row in a year or two.
