Rumblings: Notre Dame says no to B1G - EarthBoundMisfit - 07-05-2022 02:17 PM

Has yet to be confirmed...but hearing this.
Saw it promoted on the skinny little Gold and Blue Dude (West Virginia fanboi's youtube channel)

huge if true. Oregon and Washington were hoping to come along if Notre Dame were accepted. Without the Irish...they may stay put in the PAC.
The 4 PAC schools talking to the Big 12 may stay put as long as Oregon and Washington stay put...and they may invite BYU/Boise State to replace UCLA and USC (my opinion only)

This would seem like an awfully quick “due diligence” if that were the case—unless they’ve been mulling a most recent offer for awhile.

Big kahunas on ND’s part. I guess they know they are biggest of all the dominos. They can take their time.

I think it’s more likely that Oregon and Wash go to the B1G if ND decides not to go. I’d rather they accept and force the SEC to make a move on the ACC. They will eventually anyway, but I think it expedited things.

Isn't this guy in that group of Twitter sites that throw stuff against the wall every time realignment comes around?

Really dunno. I watch that Gold and Blue dude...for entertainment value mostly.

This could be a game-changer if true.

If the B1G wanted Washington and Oregon, they would have invited them along with USC and UCLA methinks.

That's really bad for Memphis as that would pretty much kill the PAC12 and leave it ripe for the BIG12 to plunder which means - no spot for Memphis.

They'd be stupid to say no. They'll never be in the playoff again.

True, but obviously they really want ND. Might be a decent second option if ND doesn’t work out.

MHver is a long-time realignment troll with a terrible track record.

Gold & Blue dude not a troll, but puts out wild theories favoring the big 12 without obvious sources.

I believe your earlier argument has been that this is all terrible for Memphis because the SEC and B1G will control the playoffs and Memphis can kiss that access goodbye.
So do you think ND is also kissing access to the playoffs goodbye?

Who TF is Norte Dame... the cheap Mexican knock-off of Notre Dame?

No. They are Notre Dame. They are not in a conference now and they have access.
They are such a big brand that they will have access whether or not they choose to join a conference in football.

IKES source saying Norte dame will go to BIG

RE: Rumblings: Notre Dame says no to B1G - tigerlands - 07-05-2022 05:03 PM

I know ND has the biggest brand of all, but the Big 10 seems like a great fit for them. Always has. This might be the time for them to jump.
