Just have to throw the author's BIO out there and ask why is this guy writing anything Hockey related?? Although it does list his interest in writing fiction.

At Hopkins he took a wide variety of classes in writing, English, economics, political science, history, and language. While pursuing his education, Adam worked part-time in the Special Collections department of JHU's Milton S. "Ranking" hockey cities while only counting the University and the NHL team. Stupid. The Grand Rapids Griffins and Kalamazoo Wings still exist and have hockey fans that would count toward ranking said cities. Dude should rank cities based on the arts since he actually might be informed about Miller Auditorium or the State Theater.

Some strange metrics. Kalamazoo is full of WMU, Blackhawks, Red Wings, K-Wings, etc. fans.

Number of NCAA (Division 1) Team(s): Full Weight (~2.86 Points)
Performance Level of NCAA (Division 1) Team(s): Full Weight (~2.86 Points)
Note: This metric was calculated by dividing the number of wins by the total games played. The past three seasons’ average was used for this calculation.
Number of NCAA (Division 1) Championship Wins: Full Weight (~2.86 Points)
Number of NCAA (Division 1) Conference Regular Season Championship Wins: Half Weight (~1.43 Points)
Number of Hall of Fame Head Coaches: Half Weight (~1.43 Points)
Minimum Season-Ticket Price for NCAA (Division 1) Game: Full Weight (~2.86 Points)
College-Hockey Fan Engagement: Full Weight (~2.86 Points)
Note: This metric was calculated by adding the number of Twitter followers to the number of Facebook “Likes” per capita.
Number of Coaches in Past 10 Seasons (Seasons 2012-13 to 2021-22): Half Weight (~1.43 Points)
College-Hockey Stadium Capacity: Half Weight (~1.43 Points)
Note: This metric was calculated by dividing stadium capacity by city population.

Why is Sunrise ranked as the second sunbelt city only behind Tampa Bay? Saint Louis seems really really high too.

I like a lot of the metrics he used for calculating. The social media metric is a good one.

I'd love to see the spread sheet with all the numbers for a deeper dive, but can't find this guys email to request this.

Not sure how far he is going back. In some metrics he indicates this, but others, he doesn't.

Playing in the NCHC maybe be hurting team in the performance level metric, along with Conf Championship metric.
