Awesome design. I hope they change a couple things, but the black endzones will look great.

RE: Turf Design Approved - Johns1124 - 05-26-2022 07:02 AM

Still say black is overdone.

I agree, but what other options do we have for the endzones. If we go Green endzones they lose their prominence. If we go White endzones those black rubber pellets make the white look dingy / grayish.

The whole field already being green takes away from a different shade of green in the endzone. The black will really pop.

But with green lettering and white outline. hahaha

I HATE the push for all the black crap at Marshall. Really wish we'd stick with more kelly green and white. But that's clearly an argument that I'm losing. ;-)

It's always been a highlight color. The best unis have included black pinstriping. I'm not a fan of it being a base color, but I have to admit it looks mean, more intimidating. I think that's what the younger people want to see. That thug life factor. If it gets us recruits and makes them win I don't care if we cover the place in pink. The stadium's already named after a chick. I'll go sit through a gay pride parade before I walk into our pink stadium if it means we get 10+ wins. But if a LB feels like hitting a little harder because he's got black pants on? I'm all in. Style is a luxury that is well below results on my list.

It's all marketing, especially for new recruits. It is our tertiary color, whether official or not. As long as we don't overdue it, it makes for a cool look every once in a while. As for the field, it just pops better than Green on Green.

THIS. If it brings in recruits and players, then why not? Oregon led the way because of Nike. But players like the swag... just my opinion.

Definitely. No matter what some of us fans think of the uniforms and colors, Oregon has gotten many recruits based on their Nike Deal alone.

Their problem is that they have so many variations the casual viewer doesn't know who they are if you see them on TV. They've lost their "Identity" which is key in marketing.

But I do know that in the past when we tried to install a third color it failed miserably. See "silver" and "yellow" uniforms LOL

Yes, just stick with the three colors that make up our Logo.

Primary- Kelly Green
Secondary - White
Tertiary- Black

Can I get an Amen?

The last two things we need for three complete uniforms are matte black helmets and green helmets.
