I saw on instagram that we'd offered Texas State transfer guard Caleb Asberry?

Averaged ~13 ppg, shot close to 40% from three.

Also got offers from Loyola Chicago and Wichita State

Getting high major interest..

Saw something that said he shot 45% from three in conference play and was a first team all Sunbelt player this year.

Would definitely fit the mold of Ertel and Quan as successful transfers from the Sunbelt.

Seems like he'd be a good pick up and fit a need.

6-6 guard who can score. Definitely fits what we like to do.

I think Caleb is the first in the transfer portal to get an offer from AK. At least public wise

I like the idea of an Asberry-Jelly backcourt.

Sure it's football , but can we lure him back from the portal?

the Athletic article is behind paywall

did he get hurt? or did he get thrown off the team? He only played in 6 games, started 4, had increasing minutes each game...scored double digits in all but the 1st, and then never played again after 12/31

Something with his arm or shoulder, i think...

Ledarrius Brewer and Ty Brewer each have one year of eligibility remaining and will apparently will be using it at a different school.

Ledarrius Brewer was a two-time All-Southern Conference selection during his time with ETSU. He was the Bucs’ leading scorer the last two seasons. He averaged 14.6 points per game this season and 16.2 during the 2020-21 season. Ty Brewer was ETSU’s leading rebounder this season.

They both have scored more than 1,000 points for their college careers.

Seems like two solid pick ups. On the surface, they would seem to replace Jackson and Leblanc

RE: Transfer Portal Thread - UABrandon - 03-29-2022 07:07 PM

Ledarrius' stats against us the past 2 seasons are pretty impressive.
2020 he had 18 pts 9 rebounds and 3 blocks
2021 he had 15 pts 10 rebounds and 3 assists

RE: Transfer Portal Thread - WesternBlazer - 03-29-2022 07:09 PM

Still need a dead-eye shooter (or two)...

Haven't seen enough of Elijah Tate to form an opinion...

head coach Andy Kennedy is back traversing the transfer portal

I do not think that word means what you think it means.
