She wouldn’t be eligible next year unless she comes back to Kent. Interesting situation developing…

Grass isn’t always greener. She bolted and then covid has her locked down and taking online courses. When she decided she wasn’t enjoying it she hit the portal and their Coach closed off all access. I wouldn’t think she would have a hard time having a school swoop in, but so far I don’t see her signed anywhere.

COVID has made the college experience pretty crummy. If all of McGinty’s courses are online, I could see that getting old really fast. The lack of socialization with other students combined with being in the middle of butt-nowhere Oklahoma sounds awful. I also read another article where she said she isn’t sure she has the passion for golf right now, which isn’t all that uncommon for many college athletes.

That said, closing off all access is a petty move and another top player is also leaving the program, so you have to wonder if there is something more going on.

Maybe it’s time to turn pro. Of course if she doesn’t have the passion that probably won’t work either.

Maybe. Unlike most women's college golfers, she is probably good enough to do that. And for McGinty, the Ladies European Tour would be a good option, even if you aren't going to get rich playing there if you aren't in the Top 10-15 or so.

The Ladies are going for #23 in a row today in Holland, OH for the MAC. Will be interesting. They did have a season best 2nd place last week in Columbus.

Just looked at other tourneys played this fall and spring and the only other MAC team they faced was Toledo and still finished well ahead. KSU is ranked #43 at the moment

Well they seem to be cruising right along. Up 9 end of the 1st round, and 19 over third place.

Well-positioned after the first day. Looking at the KSU roster, the coaching staff is going to have to do some heavy recruiting. Pretty thin, with only six on the roster (two seniors/grads, three juniors, & one freshman).

Yea and those seniors/grads are the top 2 golfers. They went 1-2 at Buckeye Invitational and team finished 2nd. Sounds like a significant fallout after that

#23 is secured but didn't win the individual championship. Salort and Price finish #2 and 3.

Results make this look like it was easy , but it was NOT easy
Great job by all. 23 straight is unbelievable.

4 coaches but they keep winning. Congrats everyone.
