Riggert said Molson is done for the year. That sucks. He isn’t irreplaceable though so the season still has hope.
Delaware will be missing one starter in Painter and maybe another in Assamoah. Both were hurt Thursday on Towson’s slippery court fiasco.
Dukes need to salvage something out of this 4 game homestand. 1-3 would be a back breaker. 2-2 would be disappointing but would keep JMU in the realistic hunt for the regular season title.
This Blue Hens team reminds me a bit of Drexel in that the are pretty good on offense with Inglesby at the helm, but not so good on defense.
No Painter is a big deal for JMU today. Less to defend in the post

Good game for you guys to get back on track. Our offense when clicking flows through Painter, but won’t have him because Towson can’t mop their floor. Don’t see the Hens winning this one.

Didn’t realize how good of a season Painter has had. Leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker. Shooting 57%, 40% from 3, and 80% FT. Wow. Great improvement. And that is a big loss for the Chickens.
Dukes need to take advantage of the situation today.

That was a listless first half. Very discouraging to see the team not looking like the home team today.
Down by 9 and the Blue Chickens don’t even have their 6’10” best player.
Not sure why coach didn’t press much until the last 5 minutes. It is something the Dukes do well and much needed to offset some of the half court defensive issues.
Gotta turn this thing around in the second half and get turnovers.

One would thing the benefit of having 15 guards on the team would be shooting and defense. We can't do either.

This is turning into one of the most disappointing seasons in a decade.
This team has talent and is underachieving hugely the last month.
COVID. Injuries. No excuses. Everyone is dealing with that.
It’s just not meant to be for jmu to ever have a legitimately good men’s hoops team.

My guess is pressing gives you turnovers ......but can also give you some fouls. Not a lot to give with a few guys and a shorter bench.
I saw the jawing at Falden after the missed 3 in front of their bench. Maybe that gets our motor going . And I would like to see the press as well.

The good news is the biggest issue should be an easy fix- staying with the deadly 3 point shooters and the guy underneath instead of switching every time. The bad news is that it has been that way for a month. Not sure if By is still just teaching overall philosophy instead of what to do in different scenarios, but that has to be the next step for this team.

Absolutely pathetic. Don’t y’all worry about By being poached away. He ain’t that good. Better than what we had, maybe, but this is infuriating. Cancelling our trip end of February to see the last home game against Towson.

2:33 timeout. JMU has gone from being down by 4 to being down by 14 in just about a minute. Take all five off the floor and clear the bench. They can't do any worse, and if the players on the floor are not going to give any effort, put some guys on the floor who might do so.
