I am scratching my head wondering what you guys are trying to prove and who you are trying to prove it to...

the ship named THISTEAMISBETTERWITHALO has sailed, crashed, sank to the bottom of the ocean, coral has grown over it and now infested with sharks.

even if it is true (which if it is, it isnt by much) no one cares anymore. Alo had as many chances as any sub-par d1 player has ever been given and wasnt able to take advantage of those chances.

No Lomax Vs. Tulsa @ home Up 1 with 1 minute left.

It is not like we have lit the world on fire without him...

The difference in these 3 games is Minott...Not guard play.

Down 1 @Tulane with 6 seconds left.

Without?

No other game have we had such a missing level of talent.

So @ Tulane we had Lomax...

But No Duren, No Williams and No Bates.

And you want to compare...Seriously.

The difference in the games is which guard took the shot down one...

Alo - Passed up open shots all night. Over penetrates and throws up a wild prayer with no chance

Harris - Been aggressive and shot well all night. Gets to a spot in the lane he is comfortable and pulls up and hits a floater

Harris's shot could have also been characterized as over-penetration and wild.
He wanted to pass, but the defender checked off, so he changed the shot while in the air.
Thankfully it went in.
For shooting, I'd much rather have Tyler - don't get me wrong.
But that example was not soooo much different between the two.

You are thinking of his earlier floater.

Harris got the ball and never had any intention of passing and his man played him straight up the entire time on the "game winner". He got to spot around the free throw and hit the floater (albeit a tough shot) over his defender.

The shots were wildly different. One was under control with a very confident scoring guard and a shot Harris makes probably 50% of the time and the other was wildly out of control and prayer that is made basically 0% of the time, again not to mention shot by a guard who had been passing up wide open shots all game.

with him and the way they were shooting we are probably down 15 with 2 minutes left

Oh the hate is strong with this one. Lomax playing is worth -14 points...Show me the data anywhere during the season to back that up.

I think we found Lomax's Daddy

No facts to back up your statement so you just want to change the conversation.

The Facts are in the last 2 seasons this team has played its best ball when he is sitting on the bench and you cant dispute it.

We were playing great before he got hurt last year.

Or best win of the year came with him on the floor.

Lomax is a positive... Should be playing ahead of Earl, No.. but he has value

Do your own research. We beat Bama despite of Lomax even Parrish pointed that out with advanced stats. He is a 5-10 minute a game guard that gets 20 and has shown little growth in 4 years but please keep acting like he is the next Derrick Rose.

He has value, he is good for 10 minutes a game to give a starter a blow or foul trouble. He.doesn't.score. he passes up wide open shots and adds little floor generalship. He does one thing consistently, dribble time off the shot clock and then hope someone is open to bail him out.

At least you concede that Earl is a better option even at this early stage of his development.

If it’s nothing but the fact his dad spent time in jail, it’s a lame ass tweet. He’s been out for ten years. If they saw it, I doubt they felt anything. It’s that lame. Just another fool with a tweeter acct.

First I said he should play behind Earl...So no one is claiming he is a star.

2nd how about you look at that BoxScore +/- stat from 2021 from the link you posted...Lomax is 2nd on the team...You still think that Advanced Metric is a great measure of performance.

Please post some valid info

I had no idea Pablo Escobar is Alex Lomax’s dad. Even in prison, with his contacts, I’d be playing Lomax too.

And Tyler is much better if he’s on the court with 4 taller players. I’m afraid to even think what would have happened if both had been in the game at the end with either Lester or Nolley on the bench

RE: Alex Lomax Dad - memtigbb - 01-11-2022 11:05 AM

Timberlake is my starter with 20+ minutes because we need as much development time for him as we can get.
Harris comes off the bench first for a few minutes to let Timberlake catch a breather and give Harris a heat check. If Harris is hot, making shots, then he stays in longer and becomes the primary backup. If he is not hot, then he goes back to the bench and ALo becomes the primary backup, but only long enough for Timberlake to catch a few 2 minute breathers a couple times a half.

Does it change the point though? They are both capable of wild drives into the lane, needing help and luck to finish the play.
But, again, as a an offensive PG, I will pick Tyler every time.
D...We gave up a lot of 3's, but there were only 2 I can think of that were specifically Tyler's fault...Jury's still out.

All things equal - I agree.
However, if we play a pressing team, Timberlake has struggled.
Fortunately, I think everyone in the AAC is afraid to press us - at least for long periods.

He does a couple of things. He can create the pick & roll better than anyone on the team (with Malcolm, primarily). No one else seems capable of running it. He is also a very good on-ball defender.

There is also another huge difference between the shots...The most obvious one.

One guy had the dribble the entire length of the floor in 5 seconds to get his shot the other had the entire shot clock to figure out how do do anything he wanted.

People need to stop laying all the flaws of this team at the feet of Lomax...It is just not fair.
