RE: Transfer portal link - IamN2daRockets! - 12-16-2022 03:36 PM

Dumont was a partial 4 star recruit and played significant play counts his first 2 years.

He then was injured and seemed to develop a somewhat strained relationship with the staff. During one home game (last year?) I observed him screaming at a coach. I forget whom. Probably best to move on after earning degree. He possibly just graduated so the timing was perfect for a departure. He likely thought he had little if no chance to play in the bowl game so cut the ties now. Just speculating.

I don't know, free trip to Florida where he is from and if he isn't going to play, no chance of an injury. May have wanted to give someone a big FU on the way out and this was the best way of doing it in his mind.

Would like to know if he was yelling at his position coach - for no reason other than to know if a guy like this was having issues with him - and why. Didn't he also win a national level award for community service?

He straight up refused to enter the Akron game last season. Coaches and other players were trying to get him to go in, and he would not.

Was a reason ever made public or was it more of a personal health issue?

Not good for BGSU. That's a lot of players leaving, but don't know the context of who is leaving and if it is because most will not get playing time. Some portal transfers actually help the coach not have to deal with pulling scholarships on players that are not part of future plans. But a guy like this is not helping. Haven't heard of any other high profile players bailing out. Kind of expected a number of UT players to hit the portal because of playing status going forward. Especially for QB's. But, if they have not played, they won't be attractive to a better program either. Biggest risk is probably Gleeson, but he still has 3 years left. I don't think Finn will stick around beyond next year - which will be his fifth in the program. He will go elsewhere and try to get some NIL money. I don't see him moving on to the NFL as a QB at this point, but he has been improving as a passer each year. Tough to get to the NFL as a QB.

He could get there as a WR I bet. I'm not sure he has the body to move up to TE.

His speed and elusiveness were clearly displayed in the OSU game. I'm not unconvinced his passing can't get to that needed level. I would agree, it's not there yet. Good touch. Strong arm. Quick passes. I don't see him yet dropping it over defenders as well as it needs be. Hopefully another Summer camp and we'll see what Weiner can do.

Bg's 6'7" wideout is receiving offers from numerous big time programs including Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Texas A&M, Arkansas, even Deion Sanders has offered him at Colorado. I'm not sure how these BG players are getting other offers when they haven't been very good recently. But this isn't good for the league especially at a competitiveness standpoint.

Good. Hope they lose more and go 0-12 next season.

RE: Transfer portal link - Babes boy - 01-09-2023 11:17 AM

Just cut this from an article on Buckeye wire.
I believe we should go after this young man.

freshman receiver Blaize Exline is looking for a new home.

Exline was a true freshman walk-on and faced an uphill battle to see any playing time in his career in Columbus. Exline had an eye-popping high school career, notching an insane 237 receptions for 2,769 yards and 37 touchdowns during his junior and senior seasons combined. Exline shattered 10 records at his Salem High School in Ohio.

Isn’t Candle himself from Salem? I doubt he’s unaware of this availability.

Last time they beat us two years in a row was 2008-09.

BTW - where did Jalen Grant end up at? He has another year if he chooses to use it. Better make sure he finishes off his degree. Getting it from Purdue will always catch attention when looking for a job - will generally always get you an interview. Except maybe not in the NFL

Just did a search - he ended up at Purdue. BG probably would have beat Purdue this year if the team showed up like they did at the end of the year.

First hit of free agency for UT…All-MAC OG Vinny Sciury has entered the portal as a grad transfer.
