JMU @ E. Kentucky hoops - Hart Foundation - 11-15-2021 12:04 AM

The first road game of the year against a team I can’t recall seeing play in recent years. Perhaps I have, but I can’t remember it. I’ve been to the dumpy campus once and never want to go back it was so depressing.

Who knows what happens. Can the Dukes get another win while they are still trying to figure out starters and playing rotations?

Their coach has Virginia connections from when he coached at Hargrave Military academy. Some of his current players played there for post grad and he has a big guy that played at the Miller School just over Afton mountain. I’m eager to see if their other big is healthy enough to play. Iran Bennett started at Marshall and has transferred to E. Kentucky but missed almost all of last year. 6’9” and 335 lbs. That is a large human being. If he doesn’t play, they still have 2 shot blockers that can change how JMU scores. For ACC fans, one of the Hargrave guys is Braxton Beverly who is their PG after playing 4 years at NC State. He is now listed at the proper 5’10” apparently shrinking 2 inches since leaving the ACC. 03-lmfao

Get your 3 point counter out. These teams are not afraid to launch from downtown. E. Kentucky likes to call their games the most exciting 40 minutes in sports. We’ll see. Would be nice to see Ihenacho get on the floor so we can see the last part of the team and how things may fit together this year.

Big’un Iran Bennett

Was gonna ask if we know of any way to view it, but I see that it's on ESPN+ so that's convenient.

Wow. Are you in the Lexington-Richmond Kentucky area?

I’ll be there front row behind our bench. Let’s keep our win streak going. Anyone know if EKU is any good?

RE: JMU @ E. Kentucky hoops - Dukester - 11-15-2021 09:00 AM

I think EKU is right at the same level as ODU and JMU. (aka above average mid-major). Should be a solid test and would be a solid win.

RE: JMU @ E. Kentucky hoops - dukesfan4010 - 11-15-2021 09:35 AM

Will be a good test - defend like we did vs. ODU and we will always have a chance. Molson looked the part on tape - didn't hit shots, but impacted the game defensively immediately.

Dukes 68-57!

Has anyone found the odds?

RE: JMU @ E. Kentucky hoops - jmufan2008 - 11-15-2021 09:55 AM

We need to get a solid win to give us a little extra shooting confidence leading into the Mason game on Friday. Would prefer a little more cushion at the end than we had on Saturday. The good thing about a deep team that plays hard defense is that unless a team is incredibly hot, it puts less pressure on always having an 'on' night. I'm hoping for a double-digit win to move us up in the rankings a bit. Any win on the road against EKU would be nice, but given our SOS, we need some style points. ESPN's BPI only gives us a 34% chance to win. I think we should be favored, but it's so early it's hard to tell too much.

I don't see them on the Caesar's Sportsbook yet

Hopefully the team isn't like me, and looking ahead to Mason at Home on Friday night.

I loved IB but he never could get his weight under control. He come to Huntington at 350 pounds, got down to 318 and then hurt his foot. And ended up at 360. He got back down to 330 and was hurt again right before the season last year and was redshirted. Then transferred to EKU at the beginning of 2021. He played for EKUs HC AW Hamilton (Marshall PG 2002-05) at Hargrave Military Academy.

He isn't the transfer you need to watch though. That would be EKUs Jannson Williams. JW played for Marshall from 2017-2021, scored 943 points and is the leader in block shots at Marshall with 196. At 6'9 Williams has the ability to step back and hit the 3 but also get down low and just pound the ball.

If he can move both sideways well, somebody recruit the 6'9" 335 man for the football team

EKU shooting .387 from 3 point land. Granted, two of the games were against cupcakes, but that's still a good number. They can shoot.

JMU @ E. Kentucky hoops - Centdukesfan - 11-15-2021 12:35 PM

Eku beat a Milwaukee team that actually has a 5 star on the roster. Kind of an interesting tidbit there

RE: JMU @ E. Kentucky hoops - jmu98 - 11-15-2021 12:40 PM

This would be a very good win on the road if we can get it. EKU is a legit team and has some real good players.

Hopefully Ihenacho is ready to go as he will be a big help in a game like this.

NCAAB lines typically come out within 24 hours of tip-off. I expect this line to be very close to a pick 'em, maybe EKU -1.

RE: JMU @ E. Kentucky hoops - jmu98 - 11-15-2021 01:40 PM

Expecting line to be EKU +4
