IYKYK Texas Pete sucks, it has no spice, and is watered down. It is geared towards southern white women who think mayo is spicy. IYKYK There is a bottle of Texas Pete on the table of any respectable mom & pop restaurant in North Carolina. It is a staple. Yes, we know there is better out there... but it is ours. IYKYK I agree- i don't like Texas Pete or tabasco. Cholula is our store made hot sauce on hand. My FIL makes a mean hot sauce of his own that has the most flavor (on years when his garden is right). jalapenos hot banana peppers habaneros garlic onion. cooked down and milled. The thai hot sauces are also generally better than the usa hot sauces IMO. IYKYK Watered down like your football team? LOL, seeing as though you're a South Carolinian, I hope we can agree on the best mayonnaise right? RE: Yo, App ... - BurlingtonApp - 10-12-2021 01:49 PM Texas Pete isn’t my favorite, but at least it’s got flavor to it beyond trying to be spicy, which is more than I can say for Tabasco. Agreed on Cholula and Tapatio being better than both, though. Frank’s as well, imo. IYKYK Duke's, if anyone buys anything else if I'm in a pinch and need someone to pick up groceries, I am socking them in the mouth. I do use Texas Pete, but my cabinet is full of hot sauces. I have problems with hot sauces, and BBQ sauce. I am always trying new things in those departments or making my own. Goes on just about everything RE: Yo, App ... - pjc1979 - 10-12-2021 01:58 PM Agreed, Duke's mayonnaise and no substitutes! I do like the Tabasco Green Pepper Sauce though. I don't want a sauce that's hot just for the sake of being hot like BurlingtonApp said. I go more for flavor with a touch of heat. Nah, New Orleans' own Blue Plate mayo for any self respecting cajun. RE: Yo, App ... - JoeJag - 10-12-2021 02:12 PM Crystal is the hot sauce of champions. Next time you are in the New Orleans Bowl, pick some up. Or when you make the return trip to Lafayette in December for the championship game.
