East vs West 2021 Football - ESE84 - 10-10-2021 11:12 AM

Probably time to put this out there.

MTSU 13 at UTSA 27
ODU 21 at UTEP 28
FAU 14 at UAB 31
UTSA 52 at WKU 46
Marshall 49 at North Texas 21.

East gets first win in convincing fashion. Now a break before 3 games on October 30.

Louisiana Tech at ODU
Southern Miss at MTSU
UTEP at FAU

Rice at UNCC
WKU at Rice
UNCC at Louisiana Tech
UAB at Marshall
North Texas at FIU

And, in a game that may be as epic as UConn versus UMass:

FIU at Southern Miss.

I'm tired of the West having to carry the dead weight. Can they hurry up and break off already?

By the time the bowl games are over, your wish will be granted. That’s only about 3 more months. Patience, grasshopper.

West has opened up 4-0, but the two best West teams account for three of the wins.

Next up Friday: Marshall at North Texas.

Yet to come:

Louisiana Tech at ODU
Southern Miss at MTSU
UTEP at FAU
Rice at Charlotte
WKU at Rice
UNCC at Louisiana Tech
UAB at Marshall
North Texas at FIU

And, in a game that may be as epic as UConn versus UMass:

FIU at Southern Miss.

West is definitely stronger than the East. No question.

West has a stronger top three, but their bottom four aren’t great (sorry UTEP).
East has four strong programs (though not as strong as the west), an average program in Middle and 2 softs at the bottom.
From what I’ve seen if the conference, UAB and UTSA are head and shoulders above the rest of the conference, while UNT and USM are the worst.

Yeap we really need the bottom four in the west standings to step it up.

I agree with you. The three best teams this year may be in the West. But Charlotte could still surprise and I expect Western Kentucky to start rolling up the Ws.

Take it to the bank, conference champ comes out of the East.

WKU has a FCS win and has lost all their FBS games, just like USM . . . sadly we all know they could beat us by 100 right now :/

FAU and Charlotte are the only East Division schools that could potentially challenge them. UTSA not blowing the doors off WKU shouldn't be overlooked. UTSA in all honesty should have been favored, but they barely won against a 1-3 (now 1-4) team. UTSA looks vulnerable especially on defense.

WKU's offense makes a lot of defenses look suspect. Our defense makes a lot of opposing offenses look like All-Americans.

C-USA's eastern version of UNT in recent years then I suppose. But yeah, that's usually how it works. The Alabama's and Ohio State's of the world are the teams who are usually known to be equally solid on both sides of the ball. The rest of us have to settle.

Bottom four, eh? Well as one of those "bottom four" Tech plans to step it up starting this weekend. And will, if we can keep Skippy from messing it up.
