A proposal to regionalize three Group of Five conferences will be presented to Conference USA presidents Monday. The concept calls for C-USA, the American and the Sun Belt to realign based on the states and regions of teams in an effort to halt ongoing realignment and stabilize budgets at the Group of Five level.

It would be nice for AAC to play along, but I never expect that. I can see why SBC wouldn't have an interest, either. It clearly benefits C-USA more than anyone.

AAC will still pick their teams but the rest of conference USA and the sun belt should do it

From an SBC West perspective this is a nonstarter because of UTEP.

The Belt has survived bad times. I think CUSA will survive too but it will look very different

Non-starter. Conference realignment is all about cannibalization for a few dollars more.
The result will be more FCS callups.
I'm not judging based on that, it's just what will happen.
