The Tulane Football team is in Birmingham tonight. Please pray for these men.

Their first game is supposed to be a home game against Oklahoma. A couple of years ago wasn't there a couple of teams that played at Legion Field due to a hurricane? Would kinda suck for UAB if Tulane played the Oklahoma game at Protective. I'd rather see them play at Legion Field if they end up playing in Birmingham.

Yep. Alcorn vs. FIU and Georgia Southern vs. New Hampshire

I don’t think Protective is finished as far as vendors goes. It would have been a nice showcase for the AAC to see how far are facilities have come. Tulane playing at Legion Field probably won’t do us much good.

So first of all there is no way someone other than UAB is playing the 1st game at Protective. Second, if the game is not able to be played at Tulane it will be played at Legion Field or moved to Norman.

Prayers sent to Louisiana!

Just read the game is still being planned to be played in NO with Norman prepared as a back.

The Oklahoma vs Tulane will not be played in New Orleans they are working on a contingency plan. I suspect it will be played in Norman, Oklahoma

I wonder if Oklahoma will do Tulane a solid and give them another game in New Orleans in the future. It was huge for Tulane to get the Sooners to come to campus.

RE: We are all Tulane Fans - UAB Band Dad - 08-30-2021 02:29 PM

They should, but I'd be amazed if it happened.

RE: We are all Tulane Fans - UAB Band Dad - 08-30-2021 02:30 PM

I'm a Tulane fan until we play them.

This is the 2nd game of a 3 game series. A local Oklahoma newspaper stated the 2024 game would likely be moved to New Orleans.

Sources add that if Tulane can’t go back to New Orleans for the Morgan State game and beyond that they’d likely play at Legion Field in Birmingham. The program and Atheltic Dept has relocated to Birmingham.

I will add that I spoke with UAB athletics director Mark Ingram this afternoon and he told me they are working on a contingency plan for the Sept. 25 game against Tulane.

If Tulane cannot return home for that week, it's likely to be played at Legion Field with UAB as road team.

RE: We are all Tulane Fans - DuelingDragon - 08-30-2021 05:03 PM

So, is it safe to say we can count on Tulane's vote for AAC membership?

I can’t believe the new stadium couldn’t be ready for the Tulane game.

Would you like UAB to open their new stadium as the road team using the road team locker room and Tulane using UAB's locker room. Not to mention the time, attention, and planning focused on the Oct 2 game vs Liberty. Might be possible to arrange, but ...
