Alcorn State vs NC Central Game Thread (MEAC/SWAC Challenge) - quo vadis - 08-28-2021 05:51 PM
Alcorn and NC Central square off in the 16th annual MEAC-SWAC Challenge from the Georgia State stadium in Atlanta, 7 PM Eastern on ESPN. The game dates to 2005, but last year's event was canceled.
Game Day was on hand this morning - it was great to see Lee Corso back on the set, but Maria Taylor's mile-long legs were missed.
The SWAC skipped the fall football season last year, but did play a Spring schedule. However, Alcorn opted out of both. So they have not played a football game since December, 2019. As a result, they are claiming to be "two-time defending SWAC champs" as if the Spring 2021 thing didn't happen, LOL.
Anyway, the bands and dancing girls should be fun, and hopefully the game is too.
The MEAC leads this series 10-5, but I think the SWAC wins tonight.
