Thought this was a death announcement. That’s coming next.

I know he's 91, but that's still sad.

I always rooted against his great late 1980s to early 2000s teams. But great they were. Bowden is obviously one of the great coaches, and characters, in CFB history.

God bless his family.

Terry leaving his coaching job to be with dad.

I heard Bowden speak at a breakfast about 5 years ago. Fascinating guy to listen to.

I wonder if he regrets steering FSU towards the ACC now that the SEC has become such as dominant force?

A great coach and even better man, FSU was blessed to have him

So, so true. A legend in more ways than one.

He's not dead yet, but it doesn't hurt to eulogize him now.

True that. He and his family always maintained their connection to WV over the years too. Sad to see the news of his declining health.

Yes, the last of his generation. Those teams he put together from the late 1980s to 2000 were amazing.

Over that 14 year span, FSU went 152 - 19 and won 10 BCS-level bowl games and 2 national titles.

Really, the only thing that separated Bowden from Nick Saban's run with Alabama is record in national title games. In games that effectively were such, he was 2-3.

And not only did he win at a prodigious rate, his teams were exciting as well. He helped make college football even more fun.

An absolute great coach. Hella hard to beat even with our stacked teams in the late 90’s!

I HATED him for the longest time until I talked to the late great Ernie Salvatore. He said that the scene in the movies as true. Bobby opened up the doors to Lengyel and Marshall to help them get back on track.. my heart changed from that moment on.

Agreed he was blessed to make it to 91, was a great ambassador for the game and to all the programs he was with. Lost a great one and he shall be missed
