"There's a nice 75-year old man eating dinner with his family."

Enjoyed the video, thanks. I just wish the university would place microphones in the gallery so we could hear the questions from reporters. How hard is that to do?

I would rather they do press conference on Zoom. Heard every question then.

Caulkins is the worst.

Who cares what the questions were. I was just listening to his answers. The questions always seem Mickey Mouse no matter who asks them.

That’s how a lifer pro approaches a presser.
Sounds like this will be a great symbiotic relationship-everyone wins.
Well done, Penny.

Absolutely.
I've never understood the obsession here with hearing reporters ask stoopid stuff.

Big move by Penny and the Tigers.. Larry's hire will pay off soon.. Recruits about to start committing to Memphis.. You got tons of college and NBA experience combined.

Even if the recruits don't flock in droves, help Penny make the most of who is already here.

I would love to know more about these “values” he referenced in his first 3-4 responses. Amazingly enough, reporters didn’t ask him to specify what they are exactly and instead asked boring ass questions basically referencing him being old. I’m glad and sad he said that he hoped it his would be his last interview.

I’m not sure I agree with the sentiment that some 17 year old is gonna get hyped to play for a 75 year old with hearing aids. Hell, they all don’t know who Penny is except for YouTube. This is about one thing and one thing only- it’s coaching education for Penny. He gets to have a world class mentor and teacher on his bench and in his pocket to reflect and be guided by a freaking Jedi master.

Wow. Just when I think I've experienced every type of shock possible on this board. 03-lmfao

Eeyore has a more positive outlook.

He mentions the values near the end:
1-caring for your teammates
2-playing harder than everyone
3-set your goals to try and be the very best
4-be happy when your teammates do well

They don't know who he is until you tell them

NBA champion coach.
NCAA champion coach

That is a huge selling point.

The #1 recruit in 2022 (currently) mentioned him by name in a recent interview. LB has cred with players, but more importantly with their parents/coaches/staff.
