Ten years ago the football radio show was at Baumhowers. Baumhower was a guest on Roger Schultz show and they were mocking UAB football and it’s lack of support.

I remember Schultz one time Telling his listeners that UAB needed to be more like Troy. Then he proceeded to tell everyone how much better Troy‘s attendance was. Funny thing is UAB was out drawing Troy at the time (and still is) but that didn’t seem to matter. Oh and I was riding with someone listening to that moron. Wasn’t my choice.

I remember when Lee HS (Mont.) came to play Tuscaloosa HS and Bama coaches went out to scout the top rated RB for Lee. Every time he got the ball though, he was knocked flat by a THS lineman. That was how Bama discovered (he was not on their recruiting lists) Bob Baumhower right in their backyard.
In regard to Troy's attendance, one must wonder what it will take for them to draw bigger crowds. They have one of the oldest football programs in the state, it has won several NCs at its previous division level, it has had at last one millionaire pumping money into it (at one time they named the FB stadium after him), they had a strong following in Montgomery for many years and used to enjoy a pipeline that supplied them with "refugee" Auburn players who did not have to sit out a year.

Apparently another program had a lack of support at that time. That would be the Roger Schultz radio program. Didn't he go on the Biggest Loser show and lose a lot of weight? Not to worry, he will always be the biggest loser.
