I’ve tried and tried to post the picture that I seen floating around on Facebook. Not sure if the link will work for people or not. It’s a pic of the football team and Coach Kelly with the headline ND in talks to join ACC in 2023.
It’s on the he ACC fans trash talk page and a sports group page as well.
I know it’s not happening so don’t try to convince me that it will never happen BS. Just wanted to post this and ask what’s significant with 2023 if any?

I know of nothing in 2023. It's not the end of the NBC deal. It's not a specified look-in as if that mattered. It's not the end of current football rotation (that ends in 2024). I would assume that it would take almost 4 years notice for ND to back out of OOC games with some schools. That's really the only logistic I can think of.
You do know that Terry D is going to be here as fast as Kaplony to pour unneeded cold water on something we do not believe is happening.

He can come in here and say what he wants. If reads the entire thing he will see I said this is BS from the beginning just curious WHY they would use 2023? There is no significance to this date what so ever. If they were to join the ACC like you mentioned it would be after 2024 or later.
I will say this “ IF “ they joined would probably be the best bet for the conference to break their deal with ESPN and re-negotiate or put it up fo bids.

I really don’t care what Notre Dame does for I wasn’t happy with the powers to be of the ACC who allowed them to join just for last season so they could play football. With the new playoff format about to come about I would give them the option to join or find another home. I would rather roll with 14 full members than having a 15th partial. I just couldn’t figure out why the 2023 date was being used.

The arrangement is mutually beneficial. I do think it would boost the tv contract if they went all in, but I don't think that will happen any time soon if ever. If it does happen, we should hold at 15 with no divisions. No need to add a 16 that we really don't want if we don't have divisions.
