Troy installs state-of-the-art volleyball court - CardinalBlackTrojan - 04-01-2021 05:46 PM

Troy just installed a LEED-Certified Taraflex FIVB Sport M Plus surface inside Trojan Arena for the volleyball team. Troy is the only school in the SBC to have this type of surface, and only 1 of 49 schools in the NCAA to have it. It's the official volleyball court surface used in the Olympics.

It supposedly offers a 35 percent improvement in shock absorption over a traditional wooden court and a 73 percent improvement on the Impact Protection Index.

Seems like something the players will definitely like instead of falling on wooden basketball floors.

Looks really nice. Do you just roll it out for volleyball games/practice?

That's pretty cool!

App has had a court like this for quite some time. I’m guessing it’s just not this specific type?

From what I can tell, App State uses a slightly older click-tile system for volleyball? I could be wrong. They are still one of the few in the SBC who have a separate surface for volleyball though.

It's nice to see that Troy is still spending on updates after dealing with COVID.

Probably. All I know is that it’s not the basketball floor.

I've got an idea for a new sport. Trampoline Volleyball. That could be really exciting.
