Too bad Rudy Gobert couldn’t wait two more days last year to catch COVID. I think we had an excellent chance to make NCAA last year. This team just didn’t jell like last years team. After the COVID problems it didn’t play very well on offense. I don’t know about an WNIT bid. 11-9 probably won’t cut it. Typically the WNIT is 64 teams and they play all games on home courts. I can’t see them doing that this year. We will see.

Just looked it up. WNIT is only 32 teams this year with 4 eight team regionals. Semis and finals will be in Memphis.

The women really didn't click until the fourth quarter. They scored the first basket of the game, then fell behind 12-2 and trailed by about that much until making 4-of-8 three-pointers in the fourth period. (They made 3-of-14 in the first 30 minutes.)
They got within three points twice in the fourth quarter, the last time 69-66 with 27 seconds to play. Lindsey Thall hit a long 3-pointer, then Mariah Modkins hit two more. All three were well behind the NBA 3-point line in Rocket Loans Arena.
But KSU shot only 31% for the first three quarters. The Flashes had 19 turnovers, and Buffalo outscored them 24-5 off of them.
Nila Blackford had 18 rebounds, the ninth most in KSU history, and 12 points for her 12th double-double of the season. Hannah Young had a career-high 15 points to lead the Flashes. Lindsey Thall had 13, and Mariah Modkins and Katie Shumate also had 12.
KSU outrebounded Buffalo, the 15th-best rebounding team in the country, 39-33. Blackford's 10 offensive rebounds were as many as the entire Buffalo team.
The Flashes finish the season 11-9. Buffalo is 15-8 and advances to play top seed Bowling Green at 10 a.m. Friday. (The Bulls beat BG twice in the regular season.)
Barring transfers, KSU returns all five starters next year and 11 of its 12 top players.

gosh darn it.. wasn't ready for the season to be over this soon.
mariah modkins really stood out (the geo santiago of the women's team.) love her game!
having 95% of the team return next year - gonna be frigin' awesome!

I have high hopes for next season. But a lot depends on how many seniors on other teams decide to come back for the extra season they can get because of COVID.
