Congratulations Tarleton. I’m doing this now cuz I don’t know if I can watch anymore of this sh-tshow.

But physically we are playing with an FBS school.

I'll take it.

Tarleton leading 30-7.

Interception by the Texans.

This is getting ugly.

NMSU has a coaching issue. The fact we got kids leaving the program and landing P-5 scholarship offers points to bad coaching. Dough Martin should resign after this game.

Like he's done since the bowl game, he'll complain about facilities, not having enough coaches and blame the fans. But it will never be his fault.

Remind me again which of these teams has 85 available scholarships?

I believe that would be NMSU. How'd your baseball team do today?

RE: Tarleton vs NMSU Football - Itinerant Texan - 02-21-2021 06:50 PM

Our HFC is a true gentleman and genuinely nice guy. He will not run up the score or do anything to make a statement. We will play our 2nd and 3rd string guys, commit to run and punt, to try to make it look like a close game on paper. In other words, we could still lose this game.

NMSU has pretty much every returning starter leave the program recently. Many of them landing P-5 offers. Clearly the head coach has lost this program. The kids aren't playing for him anymore. I think they're making a point to the AD that their needs to be a change. So honestly, we don't have 85 scholarship players out there. We probably have around 60, maybe less because of the players leaving and other players deciding not to play this season.

What happened for it to get that bad?

40-7, yeah your coach lost control.

It has been pretty bad since the 2017 Arizona Bowl win. Doug Martin was investigated for player mistreatment but was found innocent. There has been rumors about stuff happening behind the scenes.

I just know this much, they were desperate enough to sign a kid from Holland, TX lol.... I get that there are diamonds in the rough out there, but not from Holland lol.

And this is Martins final year of his contract.
