USA has played some games with just 6 or 7 players due to injuries and opt-outs. This COVID schedule with a quick turnaround is not going to be good for the Jags and the thin bench. I’m hoping we can get more healthy and stay healthy or this could be a rough season.

I know in the double OT game against A&M, we played a total of 8 guys. I’m shocked we are that thin. All the progress we made last year could be set back if we don’t get it figured out with this bench.

That 8th guy (Anderson) played 4 minutes and only came in because KK Curry fouled out.

This back to back game idea is stupid. If you are going to do it playing the same team twice in a row at least it should be Fri/Sun and not Fri/Sat

The great news about this AState/ULM series is that someone has to win...

New coach and a cobbled together roster for us this year. It will be a long year but have to give Berg some time

Ugly game all around. Sloppy. Thankfully we built a lead on better rebounding and better shooting early, and it held up. We really owned the boards tonight, sometimes that’ll get you a win.

I don’t think you guys can play as poorly two nights straight. I’d be surprised.

Poor shooting night + missing top rebounder = wtf am I watching smh

RE: Basketball: Week of Dec 27-Jan 3rd - chiefsfan - 01-01-2021 09:08 PM

ULM now has a third of their win total in 2021 that they did for the entirely of the Fall of 2020 in Athletics. They handle a bad Arkansas State team easily.

We might not win a D1 game this season in Men's basketball.

Only a fourth, we were 4-28 in fall 2020. 2 wins in each of men's and women's bball.

Is he out long term?

RE: Basketball: Week of Dec 27-Jan 3rd - boroeagle2 - 01-01-2021 11:06 PM

Southern got smoked at home by South Al. I guess we’ll try again tomorrow.

RE: Basketball: Week of Dec 27-Jan 3rd - Bobcat87 - 01-02-2021 12:38 AM

Bobcats lose by 6 in OT. . . .

Coastal's announcer kinda nailed it when he commented GSU is thin at depth. Panthers had 3 freshman and 1 walk on playing meaningful mins...it's pretty bad to a point there were no starters were on the court for stretches of time.

Nsoseme is out with covid issue. He's the key reason why we've been winning. Excellent offensive rebounder in the front court with big size and high motor. Defended our paint very well against the best of them.
Jones, the starting center, has been out due to injury. Our biggest body at 6'10 245lbs.
Thomas is a quality backup center who proved what he can do against GT, but just came back from a long hiatus due to foot injury. Needs few weeks to knock off rust.
Nelson, one of the starting guards out for the season. Athletic player who is very versatile in offense and defense.
Toppin, athletic forward who provide veteran depth. He helps with rebounds and score in paint as well. Out with Covid.

Dont get me wrong, a big reason why we lost was that Coastal played well in both front court and back court. Our top 3 guards played very poorly and missed many scoring opportunities. We had inexperienced players playing significant minutes. All these added up iirc.
