Apparently he asked for 100% control and AU didn't want to give him that.

Perhaps Napier wanted "Saban-like" control at Auburn, but their ties to Montgomery don't provide for that kind of autonomy. Those folks like being able to look over the shoulder of the staff at Auburn which they are denied at Bama,

John Taltly of al.com is reporting Clark is meeting with AU again this afternoon and that Clark views AU as his dream job.

Alright. Now im concerned. Was really hoping Clark would be here next year to open the stadium. So who's next in line?

It appears Clark is now in the lead for the job.

Once he gets out from under the protective wing of the independent BOT, he may find he has more bosses on his back than he had in the uA system.

Geez, I take a nap and 2 hours later Clark moves into the lead.

Well, I hope we’ve began making our own phone calls.

Maybe he’s just there recruiting the abundance of Auburn players that are about to enter the transfer portal

WTF are you talking about? Seriously. WTF? At the risk of derailing, please list for me who in Montgomery is pulling the strings in Auburn. Because Jimmy Rane isn't in Montgomery.

I wonder who is making bowl game preparations, Vincent or Reeves?

RE: Clark to interview for Auburn Head Coach job - updated - 2nd interview - BlazintheAtl1 - 12-21-2020 02:33 PM

If this is truly his dream job, then there's nothing we can do. I'm sure we can offer him more money, but it won't be nearly enough. Maybe he will be told something he doesn't like and pull a Napier.

If Vincent becomes our front runner, I think I’ll lead our #StopSteele rally on the UAB green

If Clark leaves, do you guys want an old retread, or to go after some young "up and comer" that is either a coordinator at a P5 or a HC at a smaller G5? Not that there are alot of smaller G5's than UAB that would have a decent HC that we could poach.

RE: Clark to interview for Auburn Head Coach job - updated - 2nd interview - Qwilliams07 - 12-21-2020 02:48 PM

I say we reach out to Gus if Clark leave

RE: Clark to interview for Auburn Head Coach job - updated - 2nd interview - BlazinBham - 12-21-2020 02:49 PM

I don’t know what I want, just what I don’t want. I happened to be wrong on Clark the last time, so.....

The TE coach we just hired will be a good coach (just guessing).

RE: Clark to interview for Auburn Head Coach job - updated - 2nd interview - UAB Schnauzer - 12-21-2020 02:52 PM

I would go to the same well we pulled Clark out of. John Grass is 46-1 in conference play and he took Auburn to overtime.

RE: Clark to interview for Auburn Head Coach job - updated - 2nd interview - KevMo4UAB - 12-21-2020 02:52 PM

Clark turned the program around. He is a miracle worker. I wish him well.

I'd be down for us to kick the tires on Jay Norvell from University of Nevada. He is only getting paid $715,000 and has done pretty well with average at best talent in Reno. We would definitely be an upgrade in terms of recruiting pipeline and facilities.

Always said this would be the job Clark would leave UAB for. P5 job in his home state. From his standpoint, you can't ask for a more perfect outcome.

There's nothing UAB can do in this situation but wait. Be a gut punch but we'll be ok.
