If Veatch truly cares about the athletics of the University of Memphis, both Rock and Poole will not be reporting to work tomorrow.
Baseball allowed over 60 runs to Tulane in 8 games. Softball team gets outscored by UCF by 26 runs in 4 games and is currently on a 28 game losing streak in conference dating back to 2019.
Baseball/softball is a fun sport, but it's a grueling sport if you're consistently losing. I hope the players don't show up to the park knowing they're going to lose again. It's cancerous.
You cannot reward bad employees for sub-average performance just because they're not "destroying" the company. This has to be the worst year for Memphis baseball/softball collectively in program's history.

I’m sure this is a tough job... the area doesn’t produce an abundance of D1 baseball talent, and SEC schools easily poach the can’t miss kids; yet we face the same hurdles in football, but have managed to work around them.
We need a coach who can recruit MS, Louisiana, Georgia & TX.

Then he needs to fill up the Prius and spend June/July in Emerson, GA at the WWBA World Series. Every decent ball player in the Southeast will come through there at some point over their 15-18 travel ball playing years.
