Next up? Pruitt? (I hope not. I think he needs one more year, but he starts it on the hot seat)

A little surprised by this.

They will have a hard time replacing him with a quality candidate, I think.

The lack of commitment that Vandy has shown in recent years is going to hurt their resume. Someone will take the job obviously, but I think keeping everything afloat is going to become more difficult.

Maybe that was part of the equation from the other side. "We're paying him $2.5 million to lose." We're going to lose anyway. Let's pay someone 1.5 million instead." Of course I don't know buyout costs.

I look at Vanderbilt as a stepping stone job.

If you can make Vandy competitive and win a couple of games, you’ll get better offers like Franklin did at Penn State.

Sure, but Franklin is the only one that fits into that category recently.

Everyone else has basically ended their career there in the past 20 years. Of course, Mason is young enough that I'm sure he will get another job if he wants one.

That administration just makes it harder than it has to be.

Mason would do well as L.S.U.'s defensive coordinator. Heaven knows they need one!

And a QB, some receivers...

Maybe a few DBs and LBs...

Might need a water boy at this stage.
