Biden-Harris Administration - OptimisticOwl - 11-25-2020 12:00 PM

We have had a Trump Administration thread for years, with over 13,000 entries. Time to modernize.

I named this the Biden-HARRIS thread because I think by the time 2024 comes around, one way or another Harris will be POTUS. I could be wrong. JMHO.

At this writing, the net result of the 2020 election still hangs on the outcome of the two Georgia Senate run offs. If the Democrats win both, hold on to your hats. Runaway train time.

Biden announced a lot of his appointments yesterday. Surprise, surprise, none of them thrilled me. BUT...they could have been worse. No Warren, no Sanders. No Hillary. So far.

I think in 2022, the republicans retake the House (and Senate, if necessary). Midterms usually are losses for the party in WH, and I think the Dems will be working hard to energize both parties. They call this uniting the country.

Just think, the USA could be just like Venzuela.

Thanks to open borders/illegal immigration our demographics have changed over time. Say goodby to what the founding fathers, in their infinite wisdom, established. Socialism/communism, AN ABSOLUTE AUTHORITARIAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, is now the in thing. Destroy the educational system. Don't teach civics, history, morals any more. Parenting and personal responsibility are out. Allow looting/violence, de-fund the police, take away our guns/rights. Re-write the constitution. Make this nation the same as any other 3rd world nation. Folks, that's where we are headed on the course we are on.

"The love of money is the root of all evil". Not many people on this site agree with me. That's OK.

In politics, I think the love of power is the root of all evil.

Not specifically Biden-Harris related, but it is looking like 2 Congressional elections, Iowa 2 and New York 22, might be decided by less than 10 votes. That is nuts!

sometimes it is true that every vote counts. I told my family and friends who voted for Biden that I would not hold it against them unless Biden won Texas by 1 vote.

And at least John Kerry is far away from the Secretary of State seat

It seems to me that the people who have the money have the power.

I don't know yet what Biden's health is likely to be in the coming years. Some of his stumbling in public speeches might actually be stuttering and not a sign of pending dementia.

But I do wonder if folks focusing on Kamala Harris running the show behind the scenes might be focusing on the wrong woman. I wonder if it's possible Jill Biden becomes the next Edith Wilson (or in a lesser degree - an Eleanor Roosevelt) if things become worse for her husband.

To an extent, and for a while, I think she could be. But I don't see Harris as the power behind the throne for Biden, as much as I see her as just a more willing puppet for the people pulling the strings.

We have all always seen people pulling Presidential strings. For Bush 43 it was Rove and Cheney. For Obama it was Valerie Jarrett. Trump is the only President in forever to be seen as his own master (if you don't count the Putin myth), and that is one of the things that scared half the nation. How many times have we heard the wailing that he doesn't listen to (fill in the blank - advisors, military, scientists, whatever)? He has been his own man. Now back to business as usual.

Saudi-Israeli meeting

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the kingdom's de facto ruler, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both enjoyed strong support from U.S. President Donald Trump and championed his "maximum pressure" campaign against Iran.

They fear Biden will adopt policies on Iran similar to those adopted during Barak Obama's U.S. presidency which strained Washington's ties with its traditional regional allies.

I too fear that all of our gains in the MidEast will be lost as the Biden Admin moves to reclaim Obama's legacy by embracing Iran to the detriment of Israel and Saudi.

When we move to stop our own fracking and drilling, who will we import our oil from? My guess is Iran.

This could actually be the case and that would be bad for the USA and Israel.

I see nothing good coming from any proposed policies I have heard from this administration.

They will do plenty of good - for the citizens of Iran and China.

And I am neither.

Biden likely to name Neera Tanden as director of the OMB. She's definitely a liberal (with heavy ties to the Clintons), but apparently she's very much anti-Bernie Sanders and her possible nomination seems to have the progressives up in arms already.

RE: Biden-Harris Administration - Fort Bend Owl - 11-29-2020 06:21 PM

Actually I made that post a bit prematurely perhaps. Not long after posting it, they announced an all-female communications team. And Symone Sanders - who was one of Bernie's biggest supporters - was named Kamala Harris' press secretary. Interesting she's teamed up with Harris and not Biden as she's definitely a progressive and 'squad' wannabe.
