PAC 12 now allows OOC games ... - quo vadis - 11-19-2020 03:38 PM

The PAC has changed its policy and will permit OOC games for PAC teams that have conference games canceled. There are conditions:

1) Opponents must meet PAC covid-19 protocols.

2) Games must be hosted by the PAC school.

3) If an OOC game is scheduled early in the week and a pairing with a PAC team becomes possible by Thursday evening the week of the game, the OOC game must be canceled in favor of the PAC game.

Good move by the PAC.

It would be great if someone did, particularly a strong PAC team. The PAC needs help to get its champ in to the CFP.

I'm not sure why any self-respecting program would agree to schedule a game against the PAC under the condition that the game will only be played if nothing better comes along for their opponent first.

I would imagine many self-respecting programs would. Why not?

The only restriction on who is to be played is that a PAC team must play another PAC team, not an OOC team, if possible. Since it's the PAC, that's perfectly natural so not sure why anyone would be bothered by that?

I’d like USC and Oregon, both. However, if it’s 1, it’ll be Utah. If it’s 2, it’ll be Utah and likely an Arizona school.

If Oregon can sub one of the last place teams in the North for BYU, and run the table, it would put them over the hump. BYU absolutely needs the game.

If BYU wants them, then pay them.
