This is why some of these conferences did conference only. Gave them maximum scheduling flexibility.

The ACC schedules included one non-conference game.
Carolina moved their game with Miami from Dec 5 to Dec 12 and shifted their scheduled game with Western Carolina from Dec 11 (Friday night) to Dec 5.

Carolina originally had a game scheduled with Charlotte (which Charlotte cancelled because of a lack of players). After the cancellation, Charlotte couldn't be re-scheduled and Western Carolina was added. Fortunately Western's schedule is flexible.

I have no problem with this. Flexibility this year is a good thing. The ACC is making the situation work for all in the conference. Its not like the B-10 which is flawed. When a game was cancelled for Nebraska the conference hammered them for finding another game so they could continue to play a maximized schedule replacing Wisconsin. Ohio State misses a game which could potentially leave them out of the play off so now it is ok to schedule a make up opponent to keep Ohio State eligible for the play off. It appears Nebraska has left a conference with a favored son and cash cow in Texas to join a conference where Ohio State is treated as a favored son and cash cow. Aka Nebaska left one hypocrite to join another hypocrite whose cash cow pays better. Kudos to the ACC for working to make things better FOR ALL. 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 03-lmfao 03-lmfao 03-lmfao 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow COGS COGS COGS 04-cheers

If conferences can’t work with their members during a pandemic, to make sure everyone is safe, when will it?
If this crisis has done anything it has magnified the arrogance of what was believed to be some of the top conferences in the country.

Honestly I have been very impressed with the way the ACC, Big 12 and SEC have handled this crisis. When they kicked off back in September, they could have easily made things worse, but they haven’t. Much to the delight of college football fans, they have brought some normalcy back to our lives.

Does anyone really believe the conferences that initially canceled their seasons would be now playing this year if The ACC, Big 12 and SEC hadn’t pushed on.

I believe the hierarchy of college football leadership has changed forever. That’s a good thing for college football fans.

The season was right on the tipping out. One more power conference choose to delay and I'm not sure it would have happened (although I could see the SEC by itself maybe). On the flip side, just enough played to push the Big Ten back in, which started a chain reaction which brought almost everyone else back in.

On the other hand, the ACC could've had more flexibility if NC State hadn't had a game scheduled this week vs. Liberty. They could have moved the Georgia Tech game from Dec. 5 to this week and had both teams open Dec. 5 for other games. In a season like this, the conference games should have first priority. I can see a "big" non conference rivalry like Florida State-Florida being played but the ACC is going to lose a conference game so NC State can play a worthless game vs. Liberty? When the Pac-12 allowed non conference games it made sure conference games were first priority. The ACC should have said the same.

I'll give you that one but a pheasant in he pot is guaranteed eating as opposed to the hunter in the field still looking for dinner. The pheasant in the pot may have been the last bird in the field. Decisions made a month ago can always be second guessed by the Monday Morning Quarterback. Tuesday morning if your in the NFL after the Monday Night Game. 07-coffee3
