Nice article. Thanks for sharing.

So so proud of Taylor. Hoping continued success for him. As some have already said, he carries himself so well and what a huge asset for ODU branding. Go get’em Taylor!

I now have two NFL jerseys. The Detroit Stafford jersey is a somber reminder that even a great and heralded talent can fall into mediocrity. The Washington Heinicke jersey is an affirmation that an underrated talent, buoyed by good character and graced by luck, can rise into greatness.

He’s had his share of bad luck also.

Yes, but...

When Aikman was talking TH up during the broadcast, I wanted him to say that "Taylor threw for 14,000 yards at Old Dominion." Troy blew it!

14,959 yards at ODU and that's with Bobby Wilder as coach. He covered so many of that's staff flaws.

If he just had some Heinicke level players on defense he would have been a great coach!

If Heinicke had played in our first couple CUSA years we would have had CCU like success. He came to us too soon. Though if he hadn’t come, we probably wouldn’t be FBS now.

I don’t think this is true. Heinicke played in year 1 & ODU was moderately successful. Heinicke would have needed better players around him then what we had post Heinicke. Might be an unpopular opinion, but those FCS teams had a few solid players and in some cases their FBS replacements were NOT better.

I agree. The talent on offense outside of Heinicke was much better in 15/16 but having said that, even with an average CUSA defense in Heinickes tenure, we would have been really good.

We went through that 5 game losing streak giving up 41, 56, 42, 66, and 42 points. We had to score a TD on almost every possession to stay in the game.

RE: Taylor Heinicke - TedHead - 09-19-2021 06:40 PM

Defense finally showed up in Taylor's last home game. We took out La Tech in OT, and their coaches took a press box window. That was one of Taylor's best CUSA games.

October 3rd, TH and Washington will be playing in Atlanta, Heinicke's "hometown". Hopefully he will have a lot of support in the seats.

You got that right. This great city deservers better than that hot mess of garbage they call Falcons.

Taylor is undefeated in that building as a college player. Didn't he defeat GA State there twice?

Technically that building does not exist anymore, but you may be right

Not really this dome is a brand new facility that opened like 4 years ago with shared tenants in Falcons and Atlanta United.

For anyone who isn't a fan of the WFT, check out these fun *semi* neutral shirts

Taylor Heinicke: QB1 T-shirt

My fellow ODU alum from Boston (huge Pats fan) got one since he isn't planning on buying any WFT gear anytime soon haha
