Trivia question - MICHAELSPAPPY - 06-26-2020 04:26 PM

What unique status do these teams have in common?
Providence
St. John's
Georgetown
Seton Hall

They were original Big East members who are still in the conference. Not a very long list any more. I read where UConn may be coming back, but they were not there the whole time in any case.

What about Villanova?

They entered the Beast in the 80-81 season. The league was founded in 1979. ESPN says that Georgetown won the first ever Big East tournament title in 1980, so it appears that there was a season before Villanova entered the conference.

Thanks! Good trivia!

But I would venture to guess that Villanova is the name most identified with the Big East because of their titles.
