Twitter Flagging Trumps Tweets - Bronco'14 - 05-27-2020 11:46 AM Twitter has started to post a 'fact-checker' on Trump's Tweets. First one is on Trump tweeting mail-in votes will lead to voter fraud. Twitter flagged it w/ a link to CNN. I'm on Facebook a lot & see many conservative posts flagged as 'fake news', where they post 'fake news' on the post & you have to click it verfying you understand it's fake news & want to see the post anyways. Even on people's "private" posts they put on their personal feed. Example: if I posted on my page "mail-in voting leads to voter fraud', it wouldn't be uncommon for them to flag it. For those wanting Trump to crack down on social media trying to censor, it may start soon. (I'm surprised there wasn't a thread on this. This seems to be #1 headline today) RE: Twitter Flagging Trumps Tweets - Native Georgian - 05-27-2020 11:51 AM (05-27-2020 11:46 AM)Bronco14 Wrote: Twitter flagged it w/ a link to CNN.Twitter sending it’s sheep to CNN for “facts.” Perfection. RE: Twitter Flagging Trumps Tweets - Marc Mensa - 05-27-2020 11:56 AM Trump needs alternative reality social media outlets so he can continue to build his own actual alternative reality... and there appear to be plenty of willing inhabitants. Perhaps a company will come along and offer him that platform. Twitter should manage their platform as they see fit. Other than the obvious which Republicans have been talking about but doing nothing (Rubio the latest)-eliminating the protection against lawsuits Congress gave them. RE: Twitter Flagging Trumps Tweets - Kronke - 05-27-2020 12:05 PM This so-called "fact check" hinges on the definition of "rarely". Twitter doesn't go so far to say that it doesn't happen, just "rarely". What if the election comes down to a few hundred or thousand votes in a couple states? At that point, something that "rarely" occurs could swing the result of the election. It's also pure speculation since we've never had a national mail-in election before. They're basically saying that their opinion of what is going to happen is correct, and Trump's isn't. The resulting lawsuits would bankrupt them overnight, so yes, do it yesterday. They agreed to be a netural forum in order to secure that protection, and they are no longer holding up their part of the deal. And as we're told, they are a private company. So they can use their private resources to handle all those lawsuits without the public protection provided by Congress. RE: Twitter Flagging Trumps Tweets - ECUGrad07 - 05-27-2020 12:12 PM Turns out the person at Twitter in charge of labeling Trump's tweets as "misleading" is an outspoken, anti-Trumper. BIG surprise. ![]() Just more BS from the left. "Twitter's "Head of Site Integrity" Yoel Roth boasts on his LinkedIn that he is in charge of "developing and enforcing Twitter’s rules," like the one that led Twitter to slap a new "misleading" warning label on two of President Trump's tweets concerning mail-in balloting on Tuesday. However, Roth's own barrage of anti-Trump, politically charged tweets seemingly calls into question whether he should be creating guidelines for the president and other Twitter users, especially when Twitter is under fire for its alleged left-wing bias. Commentators, meanwhile, have argued that Trump's tweets on the risks of mail-in voting were not actually misleading, and the president accused Twitter of seeking to "interfere" in the upcoming election under the guise of a supposedly neutral "fact-checking" policy. Experts have said that a "genuine absentee ballot fraud scandal" is currently underway in a New Jersey city council election, for example. Roth has previously referred to Trump and his team as "ACTUAL NAZIS," mocked Trump supporters by saying that "we fly over those states that voted for a racist tangerine for a reason," and called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., a "personality-free bag of farts." Last August, Twitter suspended McConnell's Twitter account, prompting the GOP to threaten to cut off advertising on the site until Twitter relented. In September 2016, Roth tweeted, "I’ve never donated to a presidential campaign before, but I just gave $100 to Hillary for America. We can’t fu-k around anymore." When Trump won the November 2016 election, Roth dejectedly chalked the development up to "[Bernie] Sanders protest voters, and racism," before sounding more optimistic notes. "I’m almost ready to stop dwelling on how my friends are complicit in the election of Donald Trump," he said on Jan. 7, 2017. "Almost." ![]() ![]()
