How long do hockey teams need training camp? Does it matter the level of play? (College vs. semi-pro vs ZNHL) does gender matter?

I mean, to start a season don't most of them hit training camps a month and a half before the season starts and then as far as the NHL goes have about a 2 week period for preseason games?
