everywhere or a few hotspots?

The south mainly, and a little in the midwest. For some good news, overall it seems that daily cases may once again be reaching their peak.

So the concern now is that the regional hotspots you mention keep popping up in different localities throughout the US. Was this a second wave or the result of a disjointed response amongst states?

**Correction, hospitalizations are stabilizing as well. Deaths are increasing, but those preemptive factors I talked about (Cases, positivity rate, and hospitlizations) are starting to look better.

The virus will blow itself out one way or another. Look at the data for Italy and Sweden. One of them was hit like a hammer and the other did virtually nothing. Unfortunately, the virus does not care for our human timelines. And since we insist on half measures and are unable to implement draconian policies in this country... we must be content to suffer the results.

At this point in time... it is what it is.

According to the CDC site, hospitalization rate doesn't seem to be rising. Remains about half what it was in the spring peak.

That actually does show it's rising but CDC data is backlogged by a few weeks normally whereas the Covid-Tracking project accumulates state reporting on a daily basis. Hospitalizations have been down the past few days and the 7-day trend is mostly plateauing.

Oh man, I missed this somehow. The vaccine being rushed in the pipeline is a RNA vector vaccine. Will be the 1st one approved for human use. Hello, autoimmune reactions.

I now understand why they are attaching statutory legal liability shielding in the new stimulus package.

Make sure you select rate not cumulative

I think i'm waiting until the vaccines get approved in the EU before I go rushing to get one. I don't trust the FDA to do any meaningful review of the data so much as rubber stamp it.

Ah, i see. Yeah, sorta similar to tracking project data. For last 4 weeks it was increasing, not it's trending in the right direction again.

I agree with you and I am in no way an Anit-Vaxxer. I get all the vaccinations that my Primary Care Physician recommends.

Over the next few decades we're going to see (and are already seeing!) remarkable advancements in genetic engineering. Indeed, the rate at which scientists successfully derived constructed the sequence of Covid-19 is unprecedented. I'm not sure how the mRNA vaccines will play out, but if we're going to talk about "game-changing" medicine, these types of technology are at the forefront of biomedical innovation.

I’m waiting until I see congress and the critters in the White House all line up to get theirs and then will wait to see if they turn into the hairless things from I Am Legend.

HCQ plus zinc was never run...kind of like saying the car is a useless piece of machinery without taking into account that there's no gas in the tank.

Why wait? That crap happens already. Richard Burr, Loeffler, and Feinstein all played the markets based off congressional intel and it appears Burr might be the only one to actually get hit with penalties.

Big Pharma and Washington dump their bodies in broad daylight.

So, daily tests have continued to rise but daily cases have leveled off. Good sign.

Going to be a very long break between CCGs and bowls...yikes.

I know many are assuming we are not having a season, or alternatively it may be conference games only.... but if we are going forward and playing would it not make sense to schedule one of them in week zero?

I do not know if Austin Peay would be available, they just canned their coach last week. Miami U. is not even letting kids on campus until September so I assume us having a game there in August is out of the question.

With the Marlins and Phillies seasons being delayed ~ a week, I wonder if it makes more sense to extend the season timeline and condense the number of contests to 10 games. You then make sure there's about 2 weeks in between games. Can play from Aug 29 to Jan 2nd. At this rate id be more concerned about handling positive cases/outbreaks than a second wave.
