Fox admitted they were wrong? CNN and MSNBC never do that.

An infinitely indeterminable percentage increase in hospitalizations.

Went from 0 to 2 with an additional 22,000 “cases.”

Not questioning your data; intuitively it is consistent with what we've heard about the risk of severe cases for college age kids.

Two questions though. First, what is the source of this table? Second, UC is larger than many of these schools listed and did re-start on-campus classes in August. I'm wondering why it's not on the list?

USF is pausing football activities due to contact tracing and will not resume until further tests are done.

Fortunately it appears all their tests on Monday (after the ND game) were negative and this is just a precaution.

I was told the data is all fabricated by the Deep State 05-stirthepot

So we might assume our next home game after Army is in jeopardy at this point?

See my post above. It seems like USF hasn't had any positive cases but is doing their due diligence to follow up after ND reported >10 cases.

The source of the chart is the twitter account of an epidemiologist from Brown University. He's been tracing stats of schools and has been raising the WTF flag on this for some time.

I'll post a link to him in a bit.

Its a bit weird that the numbers don't seemingly match the percentage of the football teams/players. You've got Ed Orgeron saying last week that most of their team had already contracted corona virus. 75/85 players on Texas Tech's football team got coronavirus but only 3% of their student body has it?

RE: Do you think there will be a 2020 college FB season? - rath v2.0 - 09-23-2020 11:10 AM

My guess is that’s because all students are not tested. All football players are.

Most of these positive cases are kids who are forced to chill at home and hit sativa vape pens while they ride out the quarantine period.

Seems to me USF is finding a nice excuse to stop getting their butt kicked.

This occurred to me as well.

It also looks like Notre Dame has found an excuse to deal with playing games that do not profit them (like traveling to Wake Forrest).

I think we will see numerous cases of this over the fall. Just this past weekend Baylor bailed on Houston and Dana Holgerson even chirped it was all a bit too convenient given that the game was scheduled the week before and nobody at Baylor mentioned anything throughout the week about there being a potential issue. Its an easy way of a school getting out of a game you really do not want to play for one reason or another.

They scheduled the game 4 days before. I don't think that Baylor would have scheduled it if they weren't wanting to play it. The issue was Baylor could have unsusoended a player and been able to play. As far as I'm concerned you don't unsuspend a player who broke team rules just to play a game. Sets a bad example. I applaud Baylor for finally having some principles after all the BS that has gone on the the last decade.

no fans through the USF game but it'll get reevaluated for the final 3 games.

Sorry but I'm going to vent here. The CDC just released numbers that the survival rate for people infected with coronavirus is over 99.5% unless you're over 70 (yes I understand death isn't the only negative outcome). It's completely unacceptable to me to pander to the members of society who are willing to live in fear indefinitely. For the 90% of us who are under 70 we are under more threat from seasonal flu; are we going to start shutting down everything during bad flu outbreaks. I better shut up; don't want to give any of these mini-dictators any ideas.

Wish UC wouldn't taken the lead here and gone with fans.

At this point it's not even "taken the lead". It's frustrating when there's dozens of other campuses and stadiums going with fans albeit limited numbers. I know I'm not high enough on the donor list to sniff a seat this year but the environment would be a lot better and the players deserve it.

You're right. I wish we would take the lead by expanding the percentage capacity well beyond where others have. The data supports this being safe for people under 70.

I too was disappointed about the decision for the USF game.

We're seeing numerous events now with controlled crowd size and social distancing. Try 5,000 in Nippert on for size with plenty of distance. And I'm fine if it's students only.

Georgia Tech's stadium appeared nearly half full last Saturday when they hosted UCF.
