Michael Flowers to EMU. - WMU2013 - 03-31-2020 11:45 AM

Wow, What a blow this is. I am so pissed. Thanks Kathy.

Over/Under on 5 wins next year?

RE: Michael Flowers to EMU. - wmutkelaw - 03-31-2020 11:50 AM

Over! We have heard the “x’s and o’s versus Johnny and Joes” excuse for years. We will find out the truth of this cliche soon.

RE: Michael Flowers to EMU. - tayle's mullet - 03-31-2020 11:52 AM

He'll now be playing in front of 800 home fans instead of 1200. Nice arena though.

RE: Michael Flowers to EMU. - Motown Bronco - 03-31-2020 12:03 PM

Half-dozen Oakland U players entered the transfer portal, including their junior stud. Figured he could've landed there if it was about being closer to home.

So basically he entered the transfer portal, got an 'offer' from EMU, mulled it over and accepted, all within a couple hours. 07-coffee3

Wow! Not necessarily surprised at the transfer...but I am as to the location. Doesn’t seem to fit the EMU long, lanky defensive-first scheme but what do I know. Sounds like we have a good opportunity to look for a couple grad transfers or hot shot JC recruits seeking immediate playing time. Maybe we can get on the receiving end for once!

If true

That's a real head scratcher.

Murph working hard to keep his job.

How long did that take....12 hours?

Tampering?

....(nah)

RE: Michael Flowers to EMU. - Broncos83 - 03-31-2020 12:11 PM

Still not clear on if this is a true grad transfer or does he need to sit a year?

Flowers can get Hardship waiver.

All you guys thinking other coaches don't send feelers to other players even before they enter the portal? I have nice ocean front property on Westnedge cheap!

Where are you guys seeing this? I can't find anything online, and I haven't heard a thing about this on our end.

I would be shocked if this were the case, for many reasons. But mostly because MF is a great player, and can do better than a lame-duck coach with no player development ability.

Yeah, good point about Oakland.

Nobody knows where any of these kids land until they actually LAND.

If you don't want to be a Bronco... well... F$%K YOU. Go play somewhere else.

Apparently there isn't any sort of sense of commitment to the school who took a chance on you and paid for your education up to this point.

Good luck.

GO BRONCOS.

I will believe it when I see it. EMU landed Ray Lee, a Big Ten talent during Murphy's tenure due to his checkered past. The guy should have been the MAC player of the year but with Murph's emphasis on the zone and his slowdown offense, Ray never reached his pro potential.

Flowers is a good offensive player who likes to score the ball. If I were him and wanted to showcase my talents for overseas pro leagues, I would be heading for Oakland, it fits his skill sets far better.

That saying has a whole new meaning now...

I hope Flowers plays just well enough to earn Murphy a 5 year extension.

One reason why you don't let the players influence choice of a new coach...

Sure I would love to have Flowers at EMU for a season. But it appears that bigger programs are also courting him.

You guys are drunk. Look up MAC by-laws for transfers within conference
