He started and played on all those teams and was a great runner and blocker. In the tradition of great William & Mary student-athletes, Bowman retired early from the NFL, went back to law school and became an outstanding prosecutor in, I believe, his home state of Tennessee. Bill played for the memorable Iron Indians of W&M in 1953, playing sixty minutes a game as fullback and defensive halfback. |
