Stansbury has been on this kid since last April and AK has been in office a few weeks. Hard to compete against a years worth of text, phone calls, official visits, etc...

It’s not a bash on our HC. I just think it’s garbage all around, that kids don’t want to play in our league for us, from this state. But, will go up and play for bland Stans. Hope Kennedy gets a chance on guys like this. That’s why he hired Pearson, because of what he did at UA with instate recruiting.

I know its an overall frustration that local guys keep getting away. I totally understand

Y'all are misspelling $tan$bury

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazeUpBlazers - 04-10-2020 02:29 PM

If he doesn’t reclassify, he’s gonna be a blazer. Have complete faith in AK

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazinBham - 04-10-2020 03:14 PM

Think we are in touch with a D2 6’7 Wing, Trevor Lakes. Unfortunately, a sit one, play one.

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazerMatt - 04-10-2020 04:14 PM

pretty good chance that all players are getting to transfer this year without sitting out. We should know in may.

The questions is how much is Stans paying, that is why you would play in CUSA for Western KY

Actually the word is that the one-time xfer w/o sitting out "rule" won't go into effect until the 21-22 season...

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazinBham - 04-10-2020 04:57 PM

Yep, that’s the only reason I mentioned that part. Nearly 800 players in the portal, maybe they feel like they’d get that immediate eligibility.

Gonna be some really good JUCO & D2 teams next year...

RE: Hoops recruiting - the_blazerman - 04-10-2020 06:20 PM

Gueye gone to the portal as well now.

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazinBham - 04-10-2020 06:26 PM

Sh!t

Never can have it the way we want it. Interested to see what the staff pulls out of the hat.

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazerMatt - 04-10-2020 06:35 PM

That sucks. I was very excited to see how much he would improve with a legit coaching staff to guide him.

Hope we have some bigs in the pipeline.

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazeOn - 04-10-2020 06:47 PM

Based on some circumstantial evidence I've seen, I have a strong suspicion that at least one member of the former staff is encouraging players to transfer.

RE: Hoops recruiting - MAN4UAB - 04-10-2020 06:53 PM

The team will definitely have a different look next season. Not having a post player on the team troubles me.

The one that retweets every time a different UAB player enters the portal?

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazinBham - 04-10-2020 06:55 PM

Wouldn’t surprise me, they think they were done dirty but I’m sorry, 18-20 wins with no postseason appearances ain’t gonna cut it @ 70% of D1 schools.

We had 3 players we needed to return. We went 2 for 3.

Would probably offer Dallas Howell, Jalen Myers, cross fingers for Michael Ertel, get Kam Woods
Open one more spot for a legit big.

They trying to recruit the 7th best cusa roster back?

Gotta have a job to do that. Otherwise it’d be petty as I know Ehsan is upset about this hire being in the works prior to the end of the season. Saw him like a tweet referring to the exact situation. He’s not the one talking the kids away, though.

Be upset. Had they done well enough to get hired away, they would have mailed in the postseason like Haase did in 2016 during tourney week. Coaches do schools and players dirty all the time, but don’t like when the schools and players pull one over on them.

This is the business they are in.
