2020 CBB standings - Erictelevision - 03-18-2020 12:39 PM

Assuming no postseason conference tournaments started before everyone finished their RS: how many teams had wining conference records?

RE: 2020 CBB standings - TerryD - 03-18-2020 12:52 PM

Nope, ND went 20-12 and 10-10 in the ACC.

RE: 2020 CBB standings - Erictelevision - 03-18-2020 12:57 PM

I was asking about all of D-1.

Last I checked, ND was D-1.

Someone else can respond for those other teams.

Your reply didn't address my question in a meaningful way.

Golden Domers are naturally self-centered people. To answer your question, UConn went 19-12 and finished 10-8 in their final(!) AAC season.

I don't feel like counting them all but if anyone else does, here you go.

TY schmolik! I'll check it out when I have more time.

Just ran through the standings. My loose standards give 103 teams an argument. Tightening it could get it to my goal of 96.

An argument for what?

RE: 2020 CBB standings - Erictelevision - 03-18-2020 07:48 PM

To get into how I'd run the tournament

RE: 2020 CBB standings - Erictelevision - 03-18-2020 07:51 PM

Went through again. Using stricter criteria, I got 91 teams.

Dude, you'd be arguing with yourself. The schools themselves don't care - no offense.

04-cheers

RE: 2020 CBB standings - Erictelevision - 03-18-2020 08:17 PM

None taken. But why do you think the schools don't care?

Because schools could care less what anyone on this forum (me included) thinks.

I mean I get it, those of us not suffering with CV19 are all trying to entertain ourselves with parlor games, that's why tournament simulations are proliferating online and on the major sports media outlets. But it's all just mental gymnastics.

RE: 2020 CBB standings - Erictelevision - 03-18-2020 08:34 PM

Even with a tournament to watch, I'd be interested in who (IMWO) deserved to be in the Big Dance.

Don't get me wrong - during those two days between the bracket announcement on Selection Sunday and the start of the tournament, I enjoy arguing about whose bubble burst, who should have got in, who shouldn't have, as much as anyone.

It's just that to me it's pointless this year, because critical information needed to argue about that - the results of the conference tournaments - is itself missing. So ... let's all hope the country survives CV19 so there will be a tournament next year.

04-cheers

Irony. You respond to his question not with an answer about all of D-1, but only regarding your team.

No differently than I did in my original post.

P.S. Welcome to football independence and putting your other sports in a conference (just like ND).

Self-interest/Self-Interest.

It was tongue-in-cheek.
