Well, at least I got to watch 1 UAB baseball game, albeit a disappointing loss to Toledo, this season. Was hoping to make it to some softball games also once it got a little warmer and drier.

Since softball and baseball just got started and it looks like this may be in for the long haul should all athletes be given an extra year of play? I doubt the NCAA will do that but its a thought to have if the seasons never get started back up

last I saw football camps are still up to the university but I thought I saw on twitter that UAB cancelled all spring sports activities which I assume would be football also.

It says spring and winter championships so spring games may not be included but I wouldn't be surprised if they were.

I think that would be an appropriate thing to do. Hopefully the NCAA does what’s right.

What does this do for the spring fb game? UAB now has cancelled classes & made spring break 2 wks & then online classes. Even we have been told to TC for now & only go into UAB if we have to physically work on a fix to get a server going otherwise remote to do our jobs. Has anyone heard if they'll delay spring practice/game or is it cancelled altogether?

Looks like Spring sport athletes are gonna get extra eligibility. Does that mean Ralat could play basketball again next season or is his hoops eligibility used up?
It's great for the college players to get the extra season but what about the high school seniors and jucos waiting on deck? Do schools have the budgets to have all those guy and gals on scholarship next year? Also, some of those soon to be newcomers were counting on available PT that might not be there with college seniors getting another year.
What a mess.

As much as I would like to see Ralat with another year in the program, I believe that he has exhausted his eligibility.
I imagine that a number of spring sport seniors may be ready to move on to their careers so it may not be as impactful to the school’s budget as it appears.
