RE: Mike Bohn on Pac-12's struggles: "Everything is on the table." - Nameless - 02-26-2020 04:12 PM (02-26-2020 03:57 PM)HoustonRocks Wrote: https://247sports.com/college/usc/Article/Mike-Bohn-USC-AD-Pac-12-financial-struggles-Larry-Scott-independent-leave-conference-144248076/ What the hell are they going to do though? They can't exactly hold the Pac-12 ransom like Boise does to the MWC. Is it worth it for the B12, or them, to join forces? Would be kind of funny if Colorado left the B12 for the PAC, just to have the biggest football brand in the conference leave for the B12 a decade later. Then again, perhaps the B12 would try and poach both Colorado and USC? Ultimately I think nothing happens, but it is interesting that they believe they can get more TV money, and how they'll go about doing it. Kind of reinforces the original point I made; there isn't much USC can do IMO RE: Mike Bohn on Pac-12's struggles: "Everything is on the table." - bearcat29 - 02-26-2020 04:29 PM (02-26-2020 04:12 PM)Nameless Wrote:I have some connection to the PAC 12 thru friends. Playing a good schedule of former P5 teams and a few "marquee" games against each other for TV. Not saying its gonna happen, but it is at least being discussed behind closed doors. I remember reading Amazon was interested in purchasing the rights of the top 25-40 teams and making their own juggernaut of a league. Perhaps it is more likely to happen than many realize. Stories like this one certainly make me think it is RE: Mike Bohn on Pac-12's struggles: "Everything is on the table." - bearcat29 - 02-26-2020 04:47 PM (02-26-2020 04:33 PM)HuskyU Wrote: PAC and Big Ten have been talking about forming some kind of an alliance for a while now. This would be 20-25 of the USC, Alabama, OSU, Michgan, Texas, Oklahoma etc in a loose conference/TV deal. Cut the dead weight of the Washington St, Iowa St etc. RE: Mike Bohn on Pac-12's struggles: "Everything is on the table." - BraveKnight - 02-26-2020 04:51 PM (02-26-2020 04:47 PM)bearcat29 Wrote:Iowa State isn’t in the Big 10 or PAC 12(02-26-2020 04:33 PM)HuskyU Wrote: PAC and Big Ten have been talking about forming some kind of an alliance for a while now. An overwhelming majority of the CFB audience is in the eastern and central time zones. Hardly anyone is watching 10 pm kickoff games.
