Don't know if you can make it, but the softball team has had a very good start to the season and they have nationally-ranked opponents coming to the Blazer Classic this weekend.
(Friday game against ULL moved to Sunday)
Friday
Ole Miss, 4 PM (Rebels went to the super-regional last year)
Saturday
#14 Oklahoma State, 3 PM (Pokes also went to a super-regional last year)
Ole Miss, 5:30 PM
Sunday
#11 UL-Lafayette, 1:30 PM

The ladies went 0-4 last weekend. Wednesday home game vs Bama was postponed.
In Starkville, this weekend.
Beat Alcorn State late yesterday afternoon, 6-0
Lost to miss state last night, 16-6

After such a great opening weekend, including giving then #1 Washington all they could handle, I had high hopes for softball this season. It seems my high expectations were misguided. Maybe they'll get it together for conference play.

Some chances for quality wins this week. We play UNA (12-6) mid-week. We play Colgate (10-5) twice & Jacksonville (13-7) in the UAB Tournament this weekend.

Does anyone know when the RPI numbers are updated for softball? I'm anxious to see where they sit. They're 10-10 overall but it's been a pretty good schedule so far.
They were 8-12 at this point last year, and it was against a weaker schedule.

Softball finishes #60 in RPI - that's a heck of a jump from last year's #154 finish. RPI rankings have them as #3 in the conference.
