Can’t lose one of the major tent poles of the party. Don’t even need to vote for the GOP, but not voting for the DNC is just as damaging.

Heck, he, Van, might be smarter than we think (at least he saw this much). He might be a talking point for the Demons and very sneakily behind a voting booth curtain vote for Trump. It's plausible. He's smart enough to know that playing a Trump hater is what is putting food in his familys mouth.
