Every website I checked says tomorrow, Feb. 5, is National Signing Day. Incorrect?

Don't see anything up at this moment, maybe tomorrow there will be, but the early signing period has made the Feb signing day a not so significant event. More than likely just the formal announcement of the players who have committed since early signing period. I'm sure Coach Hammock's twitter:

So you have 25 Scholarships for "new" college players (meaning just graduated from HS) every year, a total of 85 scholarship players overall, and a total of 125 players total.
Now there are several workarounds with those 25 scholarships such as if you have less than 25 in the previous year, and a player enrolls early, they can be counted against the previous year's 25. NIU has several of those (6 I believe) for this class. Also, as the rule states, that 25 only counts for "new" players. So transfers like Haidet, Collins and Appolon do not count against the 25 either. So as it sits now as far as I am aware, we have 26 "new" scholarship players, 6 will count vs last year, and Rattin was put on scholarhip in the offseason. So we still have 4 scholarships for this cycle possibly, however I believe we are at 83 scholarships overall right now which would mean only 2 more for this class, and coaches now days usually like to hold 1 or 2 back for after spring practice in case there are injuries or transfers and they need to go get replacements.

I didn’t think so. That would show a bit of marketing acumen and would also show some respect for the fans by keeping them informed - which we know is sorely lacking.

I can't speak for what the athletic dept and/or web content staff will be doing tomorrow, but the coaches are all very active on keeping their twitter accounts active so I'm sure they will have lots of info tomorrow which myself, and I'm sure others, will post here.

39 new Huskies, and time will tell how good the class really is, but at the moment it certainly appears it is not just quantity, but a LOT of quality as well. Even the PWO's are pretty impressive in most cases.

I love the idea of having a tough as hell guy on the team that is probably mature and keeps other players in perspective. Kind of like the D end we had from Bureau Valley a few years ago....I forget his name (Jake Kaufman?) but that guy was a huge positive for the team...and a good player

I think you are thinking of the right guy, but don't think he was from Bureau Valley. The only Bureau Valley guy we got that I remember was Garrett Barnas.

Agree. We really added well at the skills, RB,QB,WR,DBs. Love to see some surprise meat transfer in on either side of the line.
