JWade’s knee - Petey Hodge - 01-24-2020 11:34 AM

I haven’t written a letter to a players knee since Baze’s injury.

Here goes:

Dear Jason Wade’s Knee,
How are you? We really missed you last night in our loss to FIU.
There’s no doubt in my mind that had you been there, we would have pulled out a tight victory. Reece played well in your place, which was inspiring. Get well!!!

Sincerely
PH

Btw.

Anyone know the results of the MRI?

Don't find this particularly funny myself.

A likely torn ACL is not a funny matter, I agree.

Apparently, the MRI was performed late this afternoon. No info released yet.

For anyone who doesn’t get the letter, it’s comic relief in a stressful situation we’re all feeling. Petey’s allegiance to ODU and our players is second to none. So take the stick out of your .

I believe Petey's intention was absolutely not malicious. I thought it was sweet..yes, I'm a woman! Lol! Praying for Jason.

Ed Miller confirmed what was obvious. Wade out for the year.

Anyone know if Jason is eligible to count this season as medical redshirt?

That’s a negative. He’s played in all 20 games. I think if you’ve played in less that 9 or 10 you are eligible. He’s not close. Godwin wasn’t eligible last year and I think he played in 12 or 13 games.

Hopefully he'll be ready by the start of next season,

Two requirements for a medical:

Injury must occur in the first half of the season.
Must not have played in more than 30% of games.

Might be close. ACLs are 9-12 months.

That's what I'm afraid of.

Razor, can't you just wish Wade a quick and speedy recovery.

RE: JWade’s knee - T-Mac - 01-27-2020 09:08 AM

You have to be completely foolish to believe that a team that lost arguably the two best players in the conference last year wouldn't struggle early on. You'd also have to be clueless about basketball to watch this year's team play and describe them as "garbage." Our top six players consist of two Juniors and four Sophomores...and the four sophomores might prove to be our top four players by the end of the season. They have four one-possession losses. They've also only had three games where they were clearly overmatched.

This year's team was always going to need time to gel. If you can't appreciate their fight this year, you don't have any right to enjoy their inevitable success later this season or the next two years.

I don’t accept the premise that every 4 years we start over after a good year and frankly I doubt that Broderick or Selig accept it either. This swoon is a result of the several players who bolted over the Summer and Goodwin and Dinkens leaving (who were supposed to step up and make up for departing players). This is a reoccurring theme with Jones. He is a weak recruiter and a terrible judge of who will excel in his system.
