Penny really know the game and it shows here. Anyone who says he can't coach is an idiot.

I believe we could have John Wooden on the bench with Bobby Knight and Coach K as assistants and we'd still have posters who would think we lacked coaching.

I think Penny can coach, but just because one knows the game, doesn't mean he's good at coaching it. It's a matter of whether he can get the guys to do what he wants them to do.

No doubt about it. We were talking about this last week when Clark Kellogg was on 929 talking about how detailed the practices were.

Now, even though I know Penny and staff are coaching their tails off, I don't like the switching defense. You need 5 guys who can guard all 5 positions. We do not have that. Good teams take way too much advantage of it. I also think we absolutely need about 10 set plays. When we run into problems, 2-3 empty trips whether from missed shots or turnovers, you call in one of the plays. Pick and roll is good in some instances, but if they are playing good pick and roll defense, you have to change it up.

The in-bounds play that they ran right at the end of the game worked brilliantly. USF was trying to get a steal, and Jeffries ended up getting the ball wide open at midcourt.

We need to run that play when we need a basket. The situation in yesterday's game was to get the ball inbounds without a trap, and burn clock. If we're behind and need a basket, getting the ball to one of our playmakers wide open at mid-court is ideal.

We also have at least 2 guys that know how to run pick and roll - Alex & Precious.

i think it's more of if what he wants to do is the right thing to do. a lot of what he thing he's trying to implement might not be right for the college game or these players. Making adjustments is the sign of a good Head coach

Well timed play. We used their aggression against them. Penny knows basketball.

I don't disagree with that at all.

You know a lot more about the details of the game than I do so I value your input. Thanks!
