KSU @ Miss. State - dannyb73 - 12-30-2019 12:04 AM

Looking forward to seeing the fellas take the court tomorrow night. My son and I went to practice tonight and the guys had a good spirited practice. They worked hard and shot well.

As of today, Starkville was a ghost town. Tomorrow, in what could be a great break, the Miss State football team kicks off their bowl game at 4pm EST. It could dramatically affect the attendance tomorrow night - making it a less than ideal home court advantage. Let's see how things unfold. I can smell a win coming.

The game is being broadcast on the Southeastern Conference Network for those who have it. Mississippi State has been tested by a couple of mid - majors already this year. Should be interesting!

Line: opened at KSU +7.5, has fluctuated between +7.5/+8. O/U opened at 136.5, has gone to 138.5, currently 138.0.

If I were into gambling I would likely warn anyone interested in this game not to be intrigued by the spread. Games like this have a tendency to be hard fought through 31 minutes. Far too often, inexplicable discrepancies in team fouls lead to deceptive final scores of 13 or more.

As if putting one’s hard-earned money on teenagers wasn’t already a bad-enough idea. 03-lmfao

Selling bootleg CDs, loosies and the occasional bag of catnip can’t, in good (or any) faith be described as hard earned.

Respect, fallsdog, respect.

Fake it til you make it.

RE: KSU @ Miss. State - fallsdog - 12-30-2019 07:50 PM

I’m not sure this game is on SEC network

RE: KSU @ Miss. State - burden - 12-30-2019 08:18 PM

No they have a rerun of the Texas A&M/Oklahoma St bowl game. It’s on the ESPN app though. By the way looking at the crowd I won’t complain about Kent’s attendance ever again.

RE: KSU @ Miss. State - anti-zip - 12-30-2019 08:36 PM

It's SEC Plus which I think is basically ESPN plus.

I can get it on my phone but not on my computer.

The wheels are coming off. Stupid mistakes.

My hopes for this team were shattered tonight. I saw things that winning teams can not do. I would guess that coach is very concerned right now. Two players getting TF's for mouthing and seniors at that, can not be tolerated. This team has some players with too much attitude. Hopefully, this can get addressed and solved before it is too late. If I am not mistaken, the team quit when the going got tough. Hate to be negative, but not much to like tonight. Oh, we did have a good start.

RE: KSU @ Miss. State - JimJoyce - 12-30-2019 11:19 PM

GFlash, while I agree with pretty much everything you said, I’d caution you or anyone else to put any kind of a label on a team after a game played around Christmas and New Years.

They played hard throughout, just not well. The length and athleticism of MSU did us in and you could see it coming even when we were ahead early. Size and athleticism inside is one of our strengths, but MSU had a lot more of it. The good news is that there aren't teams that good inside in the MAC and Whittington and Pippen are two of the MAC's best. Got caught in a buzzsaw in the second half, but there's no reason to climb out on the ledge. We're fine. These first two months have clearly shown us to be one of the best teams in the conference. Now the wars to differentiate the teams in the MAC begin for real instead of by theory and conjecture. I like our chances.

The team fell apart and it started when CJ got his tech. We got hosed on some calls but in the end that had nothing to do with the loss. Simons getting DQ’d with his tech hurt (I thought a couple of his and Booman’s fouls were completely bogus). That said, I saw enough in the first 16 min of the game to know this team is going to win a lot of conference games. I’m not worried in the least bit.

Here's the problem ... with the league being so closely bunched the difference could be who has the most composure and who does not. Who wants to win, and who just wants to play (score).

Kent seemed to have it all together early in the season, but losing by big margins in two of the last four games hints at something not right.

Problem isn't losing. But a solid Kent team should not get blown out by anybody, even if they are getting hosed by the officials. IMO.

Yet this team could still win it all ... if.

But the bottom line is Kent hasn't beaten a decent team in over a month ... and has not beat a good team since Wright State, which is the only team KSU has beaten with a winning record. Win or lose, BG game will tell a lot about this team, a whole lot.

OK, I guess I over reacted again. I just get too emotional and I always start out thinking that we are better than we really are.

I assume the truth lies somewhere between an early lead and an embarrassment of a performance. Technical fouls, cry babying and being disqualified don’t lend themselves to wins at Buffalo, Athens, James Arthur Rhodes, and the” Q”

Well at least you have a better record for picking winners than Danny.
