They still have a ways to go with 2020; it's nice that they were able to get Murray State, South Dakota State and fellow rising member Dixie State.

Any word from T-State folks if they have some other pending deals in the works?

Still, to have four home games right now definitely allows for flexibility with scheduling

09/12 - at Murray State
10/17 - Texas A&M-Kingsville
10/31 - Western Oregon
11/07 - Western New Mexico
11/14 - at South Dakota State
11/28 - Dixie State

Sept. 26 @Kennesaw State
Oct. 3 vs. Eastern New Mexico
Oct. 10 OPEN
Oct. 17 vs. A&M-Kingsille (HC game)
Oct. 24 vs. Midwestern State
Oct. 31 vs. Western Oregon
Nov. 7 vs. Missouri State
Nov. 14 @South Dakota State
Nov. 21 OPEN

Oh good, we get to run over Midwestern and Kingsville again. Should get at least 6 wins out of that, surprised to see SHSU though.

Not a bad schedule; hope for Tarleton that some of those are home and home series whether the return date is the following year or some years in advance with those FCS opponents. Really nice to get one D1 home game and nice balance between D1 and D2 games in transitional year

Roadtrips 3 out of the first 4 weekends buy we finish with 1 roadtrip after that. I can't really complain about that schedule.

I am glad to see Kingsville and Midwestern on the schedule.

Sam Houston apparently canceled its two for one with Texas Southern; presume this has something to do with Tarleton State and scheduling. Any idea if Tarleton worked out a deal with both schools more long term than this coming year?

No idea. However they have Dixie State for 2021, 22 and 23

I think Tarleton should pay attention to what's going on with the ASUN and UAC split deal. This could open up the opportunity for Tarleton to get into the Southland, at least for football...

From what I could find it's a bold plan. Going to be interesting to see what, if anything, comes of it.

Nice move to add another Div I opponent to '20 schedule at this late in the game... Western Oregon was a home-and-home that was on docket for home at Tarleton and road at WO in 2022. Guessing that series got removed altogether?

==
STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton Football has added a road game at Bethune-Cookman to its 2020 schedule, giving the Texans another NCAA Division I opponent.

The Texans will travel to Daytona, Florida to take on the Wildcats on October 31 at a time yet to be determined. Bethune-Cookman, who went 7-4 last season, is in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, an FCS competing conference.

The game takes the place of NCAA Division II Western Oregon, who the Texans were set to host on the same day.

From one coast to the other. At least it's Florida, but beware Florida Man.

UC-Davis got an opened date that just got canceled on them by a FBS P5 team for 2021. Maybe they could get a H-H starting this year so that UC-Davis gets a game? you don't see many football games between schools between California and Texas lately.

That's what happens when moron California politicians ban state employees from traveling to Texas and other states because they take issue with other state's laws.

So what would happen if, for instance, Fresno State were to be invited to the Alamo Bowl? Would they have to decline, would the California legislature make an exemption or has the NCAA removed them from being invited to certain bowl games?

The Alamo Bowl is for the 2nd place teams of the PAC 12 and Big 12. So Fresno would never be in it.

That being said, if UCLA were to get an invite, the coaching staff would have to be paid with monies no provided to the school from the state of CA. That is what is believed that could occur under such scenario. Scheduling teams from Texas during the regular season is frowned upon and could lead to a school receiving less funding from the state. UC-Davis is a smaller school and no likely to rock the boat and pissing off anyone that has say in the money they would receive from the state of CA.

Makes sense, in a screwy kinda way.
